three of us stayed in 8 person mixed dorm. on ten point scale we would give it a three. kitchen was dirty. bunk beds were unstable and when wanted to get onto top bed it nearly fell over, also if the person underneath moved the whole bed shook. poor (ensuite) bathroom - nowhere to put your tower or toiletries other than on top of the toilet which is very unhygienic.

This was definately you get what you pay for. We only stayed one night and was perfect for us - was close to shops and restaurants and short drive to tourist sites. The place could do with a little more decor and the receptionist didnt seem to want to offer any information but the rooms were basic and clean and we would stay here again for a cheap night. Be aware when booking a double ensuite for 4 people it is a double bed and 2 single bunk beds.

Ideal location in Katoomba. Friendly and clean. I just stayed one night, and it was alright.

Very convinient.. We always go to this hostel every easter. 3rd year in a row now. Very nice staff. Nice big kitchen. Clean beddings. :) happy to book again for easter next year! :) Erika

Wasn't very impressed with reception staff, or maybe she was the manager?. I was tired, not at all impressed when this woman carried on having her private phonecall when it must have been quite obvious to her that I wanted some service happening. Im all for relaxed atmosphere etc etc but she so needs to be a bit more professional.

This hostel seems to be a standard backpackers. 2 things let it down. It was the noisiest hostel we've ever stayed in. Bring earplugs if you stay here. Worse was the receptionist's attitude. We didn't have hot water in our ensuite, which we'd paid extra for so had to use the communal showers. When we spoke to the receptionist, she was downright rude and very reluctant to help. Happily the manager was more reasonable when we spoke to her on the phone later and gave us some money back.

My room smelled really bad.

An amazing hostel! SO clean. Huge kitchen, with ample pots/pans/plates. Computer room with free internet and 24hr access, and excellent location. Wish i stayed longer!

The front desk staff were surly about half the time. The kitchen was not very orderly or well stocked. My room was clean and the bed was comfortable enough but that was the best part of this hostel experience.

The rooms had a musty smell to them, otherwise ok. The carpet squares in room 6? were lifting - we advised reception of this. Lights on the bottom stairs would have made things easier at night.

The place had a very uncomfortable feeling to it, and a lot of strange characters who live/stay there. Probably one of the strangest hostels I have ever stayed in.

We were happy about free internet and a lot of computers there. Good stay for one night.

Very large and spacious rooms, large common area and kitchen facilties where good. Very quite, not many guests.

It would have been much nicer if they had proper in-house rules for the cleanliness of the kitchen. We met many friendly travellers from around the world and it was a nice experience. There was about 10min walk to city centre and Katoomba station and was very convenient.

We were just one night there. The the bedroom and the corridor floor were really dirty. There is carpet floor. There was no paper bin in the bedroom.
