Great location, excellent kitchen, nice showers and toilets and outdoor area. I'd advise taking earplugs though as doors were constantly slamming shut, floorboards creaked loudly every time someone walked past, and my dorm room seemed to attract an older crowd who each made loads of noise between 6am and 8am while I was trying to sleep. I understand staff can't always help this, but it tainted my experience. Also the reception staff seemed a bit overworked with only 1 or 2 helping at one time.

Can you please pass my thanks to Sonia and her colleagues. Staff at the hostel are truly welcoming.

I was a bit peeved to find out that the cost of a dorm bed at the hostel is $A28 per night rather than $A32 as advertised on the Hostelworld booking website and that I had to pay a balance of around $56 on arrival. This means that the so-called deposit I paid was simply a booking fee to HostelWorld. I'll call the Hostel directly next time.

We had a fantastic stay in the Blue Mountains. The staff were all really friendly and very helpful. The kitchen is huge and well equipped and the communal areas are well kept and very comfortable. We booked 2 ensuite rooms, they were basic but clean and comfortable. Good value for money.

I think it is a nice hostel. The rooms are clean and relatively spacious. The public area (lounge) is also spacious. It is a little far from train station and the main dining and bar area of Katoomba, but still within 10 minutes' walk. However, it is also walking distance to the entrance of the trails of Blue Mountain and viewing platform for "Three Sisters". Though it is a little quiet and not very fun-filled, I would recommend it for people who visit Blue Mountain area.

Kitchen was really nice and had strict food removal policies once it had outstayed it's welcome. Lounge facilities were good and staff were extremely helpful.

The Hostel is in a great place, and the Kitchen facilities are excellent. I didn't feel as if it was good value for money tho, the double room was extremely basic and 90 Dollars a night felt like too much to much. If you do stay here or elsewhere in Katoomba then definitely eat something in Common Ground Cafe on the main street.. very nice food!

Katoomba is a great place to visit and YHA here is just perfect way to do that. Walking distance from railway station, coles, ALDI, bus stops and echo point, three sisters, scenic cable e.t.c Great staff, always courteous, polite and eager to help. Its a hostel in a old building but very well maintained and quite spacious. So many people were there but still didn't feel crowded. Highly recommended.

Lovely place! Laid-back, family friendly and spacious! By far the cleanest hostel I stayed in on my trip, the bathrooms and the kitchen were very well maintained. Free lockers in the dorm were a bonus and the staff were super nice and friendly.
