Blue Parrot was voted one of the three best hostels in all of Oceania at the 2010 Hoscars and it's not difficult to see why. Guests frequently tell us they don't want to leave this hostel because of its 'friendly and homely atmosphere...almost like you're staying at a friend's house'. It's set in the cosmopolitan Potts Point area near Elizabeth Bay and King's Cross and our visitors say it's a 'great location for clubbing, 20-30 minutes' walk from the centre' of Sydney. This safe and clean hostel has been recommended for lone female travellers by several reviewers.

We are a small intimate hostel known for our great atmosphere, around the corner from Sydney's best nightlife!
**We are a youth hostel and only accept travellers aged 18-35 years old.**
Avoid those massive, impersonal hotel-style hostels and stay with us in a small hostel offering personal service where you can easily meet other travelers, especially if you're traveling solo. Ideal for female travelers since it is safe, secure and clean. Blue Parrot is a family owned hostel, sisters Effie & Sasha with their team create a fun vibe winning several awards for Best Atmosphere & Best Staff - just been voted amongst the top 4 hostels in Australia Feb. 2013.
We offer free Internet and Wi-Fi, which is a big bonus since most hostels charge for it.
Our hostel is well-located on stylish Macleay Street, around the corner from Kings Cross' vibrant nightlife yet far enough away to have a good night's sleep. From here you can walk to the city center, the Opera House, the Harbour Bridge and all of Sydney's attractions.
Our facilities include use of the Wii Game Station, DVD hard drive so you can upload movies to your laptop and a big-screen plasma TV with cable and DVDs. There's also free use of personal security lockers in each room, plus an awesome outdoor courtyard - great for socialising.

We're a small family-run hostel so we offer personalised service, a homely and friendly atmosphere and welcoming staff who have a wide knowledge of Sydney since they're local. We offer free Internet and Wireless which is a big bonus since most hostels in Australia charge for it. Fact: our staff are the highest-rated on Hostelworld for Sydney hostels! :-)

We think our hostel's fun and friendly atmosphere makes it very easy to meet other travellers - we've won several awards for having the best atmosphere in Australia.
We're situated in the trendy Potts Point/Kings Cross Area which has the best night life in Sydney - a 20-minute walk to the City Centre and Harbour Bridge. The one local place that we always recommend guests visit is the Royal Botanic Gardens on their way to the Opera House.
We also have easy access to transport - a five-minute walk from Kings Cross train station and bus stops.
We have organised nightly events and often throw BBQs, themed dress-up parties and boat cruises.
Ninety percent of our guests are solo travellers so this is the perfect place to come if you're travelling alone and want to meet other travellers. We also attract many female solo travellers since we offer a safe, secure and clean environment. We look forward to welcoming you to our beautiful city!- Effie & Sasha, Sisters/Managers

This property has a 2 day cancellation policy.Failure to cancel within this time will result in a cancellation charge equal to the first night of your stay.
Things to Note
THINGS TO NOTE:
Reception hours 09:00 - 20:30 A valid passport is required on check-in.
We do not have a traditional 24-hour front desk, so guests should notify us their arrival time especially if arriving after 20:30 so we can arrange check in. Last check-in is 23:00 hours.
HOSTEL'S CONDITIONS:
Full payment is due upon check-in. We can’t provide a refund if you decide to check out early.
We accept credit cards, Visa or MasterCard for payments of $300 or more. If your balance is less than $300 you’ll have to pay in cash. Credit cards incur a 2.5% surcharge. We accept groups max 6 people. No stag/Hen/Bachelor Party.
We are a Youth Hostel and accept only travellers 18 - 35 years old
HOSTEL'S CANCELLATION POLICY: Customers (1-3 persons) can cancel or change their reservation free of charge up to 2 days before arrival (local time). Groups (4 or more persons) need 7 days notice to cancel or change. If you do not give us the required notice or there is a No-Show you will be charged for all nights booked. Cancellations/changes must be made by e-mail only.
