The staff were great, the location pretty much perfect and the hostel itself was clean and well organised. There's a friendly and welcoming atmosphere with nights out planned that makes the BP a very nice place to stay and meet new people.

My stay at the Blue Parrot was awesome! The location is perfect to enjoy the Kings Cross nightlife or to benefit of a quiet atmosphere if you prefer to rest. Effie & Sasha are two angels, always with the smile and give you the best advices and reductions for anything you want to do or visit. This place is perfect for solo travellers to make always new friends and to hang out everyday. Definitely to recommend, I hope I will come back soon to this awesome place!

just too expensive for what you get, too many flies in the kitchen. and the fact that you cant pay by card is ridiculous.

A great hostel. Lots of friendly people about. Nights out organised but you can also relax as hostel is quiet after 10. First time I had free wifi in Australia. Only problems were the very small kitchen and only one washing machine. Would definitely return here.

The blue parrot is a great hostel, the staff is extremely friendly and the location is good, it is a bit expensive though, but I think it's worth the money.

I had a fantastic stay here as a female solo traveller and would recommend this to any male or female planning to stay in Sydney. There is a terrace where everyone from the hostel can mingle and get to know one another. The hostel was also very clean. Helpful staff as well which immediately makes you feel comfortable. Close to cool little bars/cafes and a quick walk to the sea wall. Will hopefully return here one day!

One of the more expensive hostels but good location for the area. If you get a room by the road it can be very noisy, the windows are open all night for air con. Good atmosphere though. A few long stays as well.

The place is alright except one event, that really pissed me off: One night they decided to turn off the internet for everyone because someone had overused it. This is unacceptable. I pay for internet and I don't care how you manage your access rights and traffic control. I am not a school kid, that needs education, I am a paying customer.

Everyone made me feel very welcome. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. I felt as if they went the extra mile to make my stay as pleasant as possible. The hostel itself is great and it's not too big either so there is a real sense of home. Was sad to leave and long to return!

Overall I had a good stay and no problems, the hostel has many rules & curfews for the lounge and courtyard, so bear that in mind if you're used to a more laid back hostel. I did meet many people during my stay who had complaints with their booking, having to switch rooms and losing momey because there was no flexibility once their booking had been made. Again, I have stayed in hostels where there is more flexibility so if as a backpacker your schedule isn't fixed, I would choose somewhere else.

Blue Parrot is located in the great neighborhood of Kings Cross in Sydney. There is a subway stop near by to get around the city easily. The staff is great. The kitchen is a bit small for the size of the hostel, so be prepared to wait to use the kitchen.

I stayed in a huge dorm and there were only 3 available bathrooms at a time for probably 20 people. This was very frustrating. Plus, no a/c, they did not enforce noise or drinking rules (I know this is a big going out area, but we slept horribly), and WORST of all they only accept cash for transactions under $300--ABSURD. On the other hand, it is an excellent location, I felt safe and the beds were fairly comfortable. I would not stay here again. Cash policy is sketchy and needs to change.

This hostel was amazing. Far enough away from the madness of Kings Cross but close enough if you want a crazy night out. Also so close to everything in the city and all transport links. The hostel was so clean and the facilities amazing. The staff there were also great, can never do enough for you and will help you out with any questions you have about Sydney. Top hostel most definitely 10/10 would recommend this place for anyone visiting Sydney and would definitely stay there again.

Had a fantastic time at the Blue Parrot! Social hostel, met some cool people and the girls who run it are just great! Comfortable and clean place around the corner from awesome nightlife. Good wi fi connection and it was free. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Sydney! Thanks for a great time

Great hostel with wonderful staff, great location and free Wifi! There's a chance to go out partying every night, but the hostel is quiet after 11pm so you have the chance to get your (usually well needed) sleep.
