Great hostel with wonderful staff, great location and free Wifi! There's a chance to go out partying every night, but the hostel is quiet after 11pm so you have the chance to get your (usually well needed) sleep.

Had a fantastic time at the Blue Parrot! Social hostel, met some cool people and the girls who run it are just great! Comfortable and clean place around the corner from awesome nightlife. Good wi fi connection and it was free. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Sydney! Thanks for a great time

The only problem about the hostel was the small numbers of toilets available (only 3 for approx. 50 guests). it,was very common during peak times (8-9 am) a 30-minute line to use them.. The hostel is extremely clean and organized, has great environment and I met really nice people and helpful staff,.. Location is very good, next to supermarket, bus stop and train station...

I loved the Blue Parrot, it's one of the best hostels I've stayed at. It's small so it has a lot of character and it's easy to meet people. It's near the Kings Cross area but on a lovely, quiet street with lots of coffee shops and cafes. It's a bit of a walk to most of the tourist sites but worth it for the quality of this hostel and the pleasant neighborhood. The staff was really friendly, the rooms were clean, the other guests were courteous and there was free wifi (a rarity in Australia).

Good hostel, Free wifi appreciated, but ridiculous washstand ! Pay attention to the check out time. It's usually 10am in Oz, whereas it's 11-12 am in Europe !

This place was all right, but it wasn't everything it promised. maybe for a longer stay, and if you want to spend a lot of time in the hostel, it might be good. the ten bed dorm without air con was uncomfortable in 40 degrees, especially since the fans only helped the bottom bunks. there was nowhere to put anything, and my food disappeared from the kitchen even though it was labelled. the tv room was a nice idea. it wasn't really easy to get near sockets. maybe stay in a smaller dorm.

Good location right in Kings Cross. Very cosy hostel, nice and clean. Lots of utensils in the kitchen. Nice big courtyard. Great staff, really friendly. Nights out organised, so everyone gets too know each other. TV room with lots of films. Free internet is great, good connection. Definately recommend this hostel.

Staff were rude, and very unwelcoming, waited for over 5 minutes on the reception when first arriving for them to stop talking and even acknowledge me

Great hostel - small and friendly with helpful staff (i always think showing your guests around and explaining how the hostel works is a good start and welcome). Good communal areas too and clean

Blue Parrot is no hostel... It's a home!! And I made some sisters and brothers here. Being a smaller friendlier accommodation it has a family feel. Effie and Sasha are very helpful and friendly. I never saw them without a smile, I wanted to hug them all the time. I would rate this my favourite hostel of all, even more so than USA Hostel San Francisco, which is pretty freakin awesome! So USA is bigger and has free breakfast but so what, this wins on the atmosphere and homely feel. BAM! X
