It was a good place to stay while i was in sydney. lots of people always around. the only downside was that most of the people staying there had been there for weeks or more. i did not stay long for it to become a problem. for some people it was difficult to meet people b/c of the cliques at the hostel. i would stay there again though.

Cool staff, nice setup, and lots of people to meet. Located about a 15 minute walk away from the Sydney Opera house. Hostel is kept clean but long-term guests (there are a ton of them) can be quite messy and territorial for their space. Would stay again. You get 40 MB of internet use a day.

I really enjoyed my time at the Blue Parrot. It's great place to go if you are travelling alone as the set up is good for meeting people.

Smaller hostel with great set-up of the whole house to facilitate lovely social atmosphere. Good mix of short and long term travellers gives a great vibe to the hostel, both party and cozy comfortable atmosphere. Located down the street from Kings Cross, walkable to tonnes of clubs and also to opera house/harbour bridge with great scenic views. Good kitchen facilities and outdoor patio lovely for evenings outside with dinner and drinks. Rooms are incredibly quiet in 10 bed dorms. Stay here!!!

Other than the bathrooms everything was great! They could use a mat or something to help with all the puddles on the floor after someone finishes in the showers. I stayed in a 6-bed mixed dorm with a friend, the other 4 in the room were fun. The front desk girls are so friendly and always happy to help with any [reasonable] request! The area is perfect for night life and sightseeing. Oxford, downtown/CBD, the Gardens, and the Rocks are all within walking distance. Metro stop is near by as well.   Read Owner Comments

Found the hostel to be good - nice people, fairly good location for easy access to the city. Was many long term residents, so although everyone was friendly, difficult to meet people if you are new to the city.

Nice tidy place close enough to the action in Kings Cross, but just far enough away to let you get a quiet night sleep.

Not the best hostel I've ever stayed in but I had a great time: the location is excellent and the place is not too big so you make a lot of new friends

The Blue Parrot was a fantastic way to start off our trip in Australia. Although we were only there a few days we met a lot of people and had a lot of fun. It is very much a family there and people do things together. Its a little weird that some people have been there for like 6 months, but once you say hi, everyone is wonderful! We thought it was great.
