Of all places I have visited in the past year in Australia the blue parrot has been the nicest place I have seen! Visiting sydney, the parrot is a "MUST" for anyone looking for experiencing sydney all the way...

I LOVED the Blue Parrot..in a great location and everyone was SO friendly. It's a smaller hostel, which is nice because it makes it very easy to meet people and make friends. They are great at organizing activities for the day and night and really made me feel at home. Definitely a hostel I would return to!

Your standard run of the mill hostel. Security cards never worked but i suppose the idea was good :P.... was only a 20 min walk into the city and harbour which was nice through the gardens (bats at sundown). Showers and bathrooms were the type you would want to wear your thongs into and the linen and beds was similar to what might be provided on tour in iraq but then i suppose u cant expect too much from a cheap hostel. Overall Ok but would stay somewhere a little nicer next time in Sydney.

Free internet is fast. Long-term residents make life difficult. Extremely noisy, drunken singing until 3am, people stumbling in drunk/high at 3, 4, 5, 6am, having relations in the room. Good location for exploring, but I was so tired from not ever getting decent sleep that it hardly mattered. Bathroom floors always wet, kitchen crowded, courtyard smoky. Free internet though.

This was the most fun hostel that I've stayed in. It is perfect for those traveling alone. The staff was excellent. I was sad to leave Sydney & the hostel.

It was a good place to stay while i was in sydney. lots of people always around. the only downside was that most of the people staying there had been there for weeks or more. i did not stay long for it to become a problem. for some people it was difficult to meet people b/c of the cliques at the hostel. i would stay there again though.

staying here was perhaps the highlight of my 6 months world tour! Sisters Effie and Sasha made everything so easy. the hostel has a mix of 'lifers' and passers-by so its easy to come alone and leave with a long list of new mates.i cant say enough about how great this place is, it deserves a 100% rating ever time.its clean with a great kitchen, the outdoor area is perfect to chill out during the day and play drinking games in the evening.there is even a fountain to swim in if ur feeling bold ;)

Cool staff, nice setup, and lots of people to meet. Located about a 15 minute walk away from the Sydney Opera house. Hostel is kept clean but long-term guests (there are a ton of them) can be quite messy and territorial for their space. Would stay again. You get 40 MB of internet use a day.   Read Owner Comments
