This hostel was my first stay in Sydney. Effie & Sasha made me feel right at home when I arrived. My backpack got lost in Munich, so I didn't have any clothes or towel, so I borrowed a towel :-) They try to make everyone feel good and they are very friendly. But its bit to expensive for my budget, if I had more money, I would certanily stay there for a longer period. Thank you very much for a great stay - I will come back when I arrive in Sydney again :-)

The people are very friendly, made u feel welcome and part of the family as soon as you get here. always asking if your ok and if theirs anything they can do to make your stay better. i would defiantly recommend this hostel to anyone coming to Australia, i only planned to stay here for a week, and now so far have booked 4 weeks, and will possibly b thinking of booking some more time here, its just very hard to leave as like i say they make u feel like family. Deff would come back!

Blue Parrot did a good job of fostering a community at the hostel by taking the guests out each night to explore Sydney's nightlife. The facilities could be a little more new and swanky, but the overall experience was very pleasant.

Brilliant staff and atmosphere. You made us feel completely at home, so much so that we were only meant to be here 3 nights and we've been here over a month now and have no plans to leave any time soon! Best hostel we've ever stayed in!

Very helpful and approachable staff, clean hostel, and a low-key escape from the red light/clubbing/bar scene just a few blocks away at Kings Cross. Mosquitoes off the nice terrace garden are intense (Amazon rainforest level) if you leave the windows open in the summer months, and unfortunately the staff botched the early morning checkout I arranged and I had to leave my $10 key deposit behind when nobody showed up despite calls etc. So overall a good stay, but a bit on the pricey side.

Awesome staff, very friendly and helpful. Good at organizing fun trips out! Only snipe was the bed bugs and only three bathrooms so there was always a queue. On the whole very good though.

I can clearly see why this Hostel is so highly rated. The atmosphere was fantastic and the staff exceptional. This was by far the best hostel i stayed in. 10 man mixed dorm felt more like back at Uni than traveling and i hated leaving. After just one night stay i felt part of the furniture. highly recommend and cant wait to get back!

In the kitchen was not enough staff, the man from the office came every morning to do room controll (without knoking on the door) there are not enough showers (3) and the toillettes were in the same room. You pay the same price like in the YHA and that is not justified. The Staff is very vfriendli and to go out in the evening (kings cross) the location is perfect.

If there's room then stay here! Best Hostel I've stayed in in 6 months. It's a family run business (by 2 GORGEOUS sisters!) & you can feel that straight away. The Hostel is always clean & tidy. Good Kitchen. Great outside area to chill out. TV room was great so you don't have to go out drinking every night. The rules of the hostel were great so never any problems. The staff are friendly & helpful. The rooms are a bit noisy as it's right on the roadside but that's it! I recommend to anyone.

Had a great stay.. Our flight got in after reception was normally closed, but I emailed to let them know and it was no problem and they had someone waiting for us. The weekend manager was awesome! Very friendly, helpful & knowledgeable, his directions were impeccable. The hostel is clean and very quiet.Liked that there was no drinking after 11pm so that those of us who wanted to sleep could. Location is around the corner from red light district and lots of clubs if you like that.

Very nice hostel. Right next to Kings Cross, where the party is. The hostel has a student home flair. Small but cosy. Free wifi everywhere in the hostel!!!

Lovely hostel and great atmosphere. The sisters who own the hostel adn the weekend manager were extremely friendly and helpful with whatever questions we had- and had plently of advice to offer. Location is great and price if good for value. The only hiccup was there was a funny smell whenever you enter the hostel (I suspect it might be the resident dog? btw the FRIENDLIEST dog I've ever met!). Overall a great stay!
