Was a bit of a mess. I stay in both family friendly hostels and the riot house variety - this was more the riot house variety. I needed to leave luggage for the day but declined when it was apparent the storage was going to be in bar (not even behind it!) Otherwise staff pretty friendly, fun pub quiz - can't really grumble at 13 quiz a night, which was the cheapest by miles the weekend I checked and great for london. Location great too right opposite Tulse Hill station.

Extremely dirty, very far from central London, guests not the most considerate, bar bass was bumpin till around 3am. None of the staff seemed to enjoy their job or feel obligated to provide an accommodating stay. Cheap, though, and free towels.

It's a great place, with friendly people. If you are looking a place with real local people and not so turist, this is the best choice.the hostel it is over a trational english bar and you can go down stairs and spend a great time drinking. The manager is a great guy and the staff is very friendly. It was a fabulous expirience! Thanks for all.

The worst hostel I've ever been. The place smelled awful, it's above a pub, so there's was loud music every night. I don't recommend this place!

The Blue Skies Hostel is cheap, so don't expect a luxury stay. The staff members are more than friendly & they honestly tried the best to make our stay enjoyable and good. Of course, the rooms are not perfectly equiped. You will have a bed that is perfectly fine for sleeping and a locker for your luggage (bring a lock!). The kitchen is clean and usable, the only prob: no mugs/glasses. The toilet+ shower are a bit dirty, but okay. To sum up: with a minimum of work the hostel could be much better.

There is potential here but there needs to be some serious work to make it not like a half-way house.

Its very cheap for a London hostel, but with good reason. There are 6 people to a room, very small room. 4 of the people had been living in the room, for more than a couple weeks. It was their home. The other guests were very nice and welcoming, but the place was hideous! The bathrooms were flooded, there was only 3 toilets for about 20 people. Everything was beyond dirty. Not clean at all. We were so grossed out that we had to cancel our second night stay and we decided to sleep in the airport

Good to stay there over the weekend as the bar is full of live music and creates a wonderful atmosphere. Very friendly and welcoming staff

Imagine you had a grungy cousin who owed a bar. Above the bar he decided to open a grungy hostel. And boom, Blue Skies was born. Btw I don't think London has to many blue skies. The manager of the place was very nice and accommodating. The hostel itself was the dirtiest place I have stayed in during my European travels. But the bar below is pretty damn cool. You will want to wear a full body condom to feel safe enough to shower in their showers. Beds where comfortable. But it was cheap...lol.

I recently stayed at this "hostel" and had a miserable stay. The closet sized bedrooms were disgustingly dirty and have 6 bunked beds that reach the ceiling, none of which you can comfortably sit in. There are 3 showers and toilets that you share with all others in the hostel, ranging from ages 18-50+. There was NO security, breakfast, tour desk, info desk, check in/out info anywhere, even though they claimed to have these online. VERY disorganized, dirty, and smelled. Unprofessional staff.

The hostel is not really set up for tourists due to the distance from center city London but that is really the only thing not ideal. Easy to catch buses at all hours to and from the hostel, about a 30 minute ride from Victoria station. The bar below is amazing especially if the weather is nice & the outdoor area is open. Rooms were very small but had lockers, stayed clean, & is a great value for the money. In March it was mostly locals looking for apartments so a little difficult to meet others
