1 shower broken, other flooded so badly that I only managed 1 brief shower in my 2 night stay. Water running down corridor. 4 of the beds In the dorm remained unmade during my visit (3days) despite no other guests. Door of hostel doesn't / didn't lock so anyone could walk in.

Standard hostel with great location on the beach, recommend a car if you want to see more of cornwall as there isn't much about. Staff are sound, rooms are fine but the bathrooms/toilets are just about bearable.. Expect nothing more for such a cheap stay. Bar area is great and gets pretty lively! Would defo stay again.

I expected this place to be quiet as it's quite far away from any bigger town but this hostel is a proper party place. Don't expect a good night sleep before 1 am. They have live music which is nice but after a certain hour it can be annoying. Also the bathrooms didn't get cleaned in at least 3 days. There were food leftovers around the sink and toilet paper and water all over the floor. Disgusting. Same like the kitchen area. Extremely dirty.

Tigh place should not be called a hostel. The rooms were dirty when we moved in, carpets disgusting and the whole place just a dirty mess. Bathrooms - public toilets are cleaner. Location of the place is great but that's the only good thing. Noone looks after this place, group of drunk hostellers did not let us sleep. Hygiene standards - below any expected in such place. Will never come back. I felt humiliated to stay in such disgusting conditions.

It was awesome :) the breakfast was way more than we expected, the staff were really friendly and helpful; the hostel is next to a pub and they even hold concert nights. Overall an awesome experience. Could use a bit more attention to the facilities though - no soap in the common toilet area, and one of the showers had clogged up, causing water to overflow on the entire bathroom floor. But if you go in without any exaggerated expectations, you won't be disappointed.

The window frames were dirty. Black mould surround the shower. Hole in wall. Mirrors dirty. Curtains not attached properly. Felt there was a hole in floor by shower. Dust around lamps. Limited toilet roll allocated. Cushions frayed. Broken latch on small window a nail in place to keep closed.

Cool little hostel/pub in Porthtowan, nice beachside and country vibe, with the warmth of a community feel. Had a good time, staff very friendly and chilled out.

The hostel was in a brilliant location. It was basic but good value for money. There was a good bar and the staff were friendly and helpful. There were not many toilets, basins and showers which may be an issue when the hostel is full.

This hostel is good if you want a party hostel by the beach with a few mates. It's got a bar and you can make as much mess and noise as you want coz it's already pretty shoddy. However if, like me, you wanted somewhere peaceful near the beach that you can relax in I wouldn't recommend you come here. Showers and bathrooms were horrible, and had people partying mega loudly in the room next door until stupid o'clock. Dorms were tiny, dinghy and unclean and stank of weed. Staff tbf were nice.

Ended up leaving after one night. Hostel part of a rough pub where staff and public very unwelcoming. Staff go out every ten mimutes to smoke weed in their cars in the car park. The fridge in the kitchen area is full of a rotting brown liquid, milk I think, which stinks out the whole hostel area. Security very lax main front door does not lock and bedroom doors have a yale lock. Beds are comfy and location to beach very good.
