The Blue Tongue Backpackers has a really relaxed atmosphere.....the charming old Queenslander house was clean and the courtyard was a great place to sit and have a beer.....everyone was friendly and welcoming, and the staff helpful. Arrived about 4 hours late, the poor guy stayed up and waited for me, and was still friendly and helpful when i got there. The place is just a big house, so not that many people can stay there at one time which is much better the the last few places i stayed in, so i felt much more comfortable. All the other people there where great and all very freindly, wish i could of stayed for longer but off to cains, thanks all..!Arrived about 4 hours late, the poor guy stayed up and waited for me, and was still friendly and helpful when i got there. We arrived two hours before stated check-in time. After waiting just a few minutes our room was ready. But unfortunately two things were missing: the mirror looked as if not been cleaned for ages and the carpet in our room was not hoovered, you could see lots of ... stuff lying there - causing a bug in our bed! Everything else was fine. Friday evening there was a huge party, lasting until 5 in the morning without restrictinos - nothing for people who need to sleep!We arrived two hours before stated check-in time. Had a blast, this hostel has a really nice feeling about the place, as its a big house rather than a big corporate hotel style! The staff were great and couldn\'t be more accomadating!
