Cute little hostel, super close to the beach and right on the main strip. Having the owners take us up into the hills in the back of their truck to watch the sunset was definitely a highlight. Very clean and relaxing atmosphere; easy to make friends :)

As most everyone else said - this hostel can't be beat for location and vibe especially. If you're traveling along or with a small group, and want to meet others - this is the place. It's a party atmosphere for sure! Everyone was extremely welcoming and showed us a great time on our last night in Costa Rica. Facilities are as clean as can be expected in a busy hostel right by the beach. My surf instructor was friendly and helpful. Thanks Blue Trailz for a memorable experience!

Blue Trailz was fantastic, the atmosphere was amazing, the location was perfect and the staff really go out of their way to make sure you get the most out of your trip to Costa Rica. The place has a really laid back vibe about it, there are people staying there from all over the world yet, we all gelled like a family!! I've stayed in a lot of hostels around the world and this is definitely one of the best!! Thanks guys, Pura Vida

My friend and I stayed in the private suite which wasn't much more expensive than staying in the dorms. The room was like a mini apartment and extremely cute and comfortable. We had our own terrace. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. And renting boards to surf was extremely cheap. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Blue Trailz was a great hostel. Though it was small (pretty sure it was only 4 rooms), it has an atmosphere that encouraged getting to know everyone. The location can't be beat, right in the middle of town and 2 steps from the beach. The beds were comfortable, showers always had hot water, rooms had air conditioner, and the hostel had a ton of tour information. Great for surfers as they had surf boards for rent. I would definitely recommend to other travelers.

The hostel is in the middle of everything and the staff are great to work with. The only thing you should be aware of is a lot of younger individuals sleep here and will be making noise at night. Other than that it was great place to stay.

Blue Trailz has the best atmosphere and closest location to the beach. Not to mention AC! If you want a good vibe where everyone hangs out and is friendly together, you should definitely go here. In fact, I´ve only left it two days ago but I´m already planning on heading back in two weeks because I miss it!

Best hostel I’ve had the chance to stay in so far. Excellent location, only a 1 minute away from the beach. Nice dorms with comfy bed, AC, Wi-Fi, kitchen appliances and a clean bathroom (with a hot shower!). Nice common area where everyone reunites at night for drinks. I had booked for 2 nights and ended up staying there for a week and a half! It is THE place to stay if you are in Tamarindo. P.S. : Ask the staff about the sunset drinks and the Turtle conservation project.
