Great location and clean facilities. Sure it smells of weed in the common areas, but i guess thats amsterdam! Would recommend Bob's hostel to anyone who just wants a central, clean and cheap place to stay, but not much more than that!

the good: location, atmosphere, value for money. the bad: not very clean, the shower light did not work so we had to shower in the dark. i would recommend it but not for more than a couple of days.

breakfast didn't exist, just coffee and tea but a about toast or something else. There is not a common area dir you to stay in relax and kitchen neither. The localization and the price is fine. And it is not too dirty. Hope I will help you with ny opinion.

My stay at Bob's Youth Hostel was nice, except beds (the bed base were broken!). For a 18 beds dormitory, the cleanliness was quite good. But for a 18 beds dormitory I think 35 € for the saturday nitgh is just too expensive (but looks like the prices in Amsterdam).

The breakfast is bad: two toast with butter and a cup of tea/water/coffee. That's it. Really dirty place. A very good thing: The location: 5 minutes walking to the Red Light District; 10 minutes walking to the Central Station (Rail).

The place is very well located. Price highly competitive. Nevertheless it is quite dirty and staff has no supervision over basic rules. For example being the rooms 20-people rooms, you could expect some regulations as turning bedroom lights off after 1 am, and some basic hygiene rules, but this is not enforced. The kitchen is filthy (breakfast time). There are two showers for 20 people and not enough lockers for everyone. I never saw someone properly cleaning the bathrooms in 4 days.

We needed to ask for toiletpaper and soap several times until we got it. The floor was dirty (chewing gums on the floor which nobody removed), nobody cleaned it for days. The staff only said: "The owner wants to save money". What a poor statement! I had really bad aching bites from insects living in the bed.

Bobs was great and I would def. stay here again. Very accommodating with letting us keep our bags there before and after check in, would heat up hot water for tea for us whenever we asked, and overall was a very nice environment. The breakfast isn't much but it's something to start your day. Our group of 5 stayed in a 16 bed dorm and it was great. Would come back to good old bob's in a heartbeat!

If you are looking for somewhere in the center of Amsterdam, with lots of people, an incredible lobby to hang out and meet different people, Bob's is the place to go! I definetly recommend this hostel, if I ever go back to Amsterdam I will stay there again!!!!!! There isn't a kitchen to cook your own food but staff will always heat your macarroni in the microwave! Bedrooms and bathrooms are clean, hot showers.

Stayed here for one night and that was plenty. Everything is very dirty and and old. The kitchen/smoking room is tiny and more inconvenient than convenient.

Good value for the money. One thing, there were not enough plugs in the room, one for 16 people...not really enough..
