Breakfast was very convenient, but having the lack of a kitchen concerned me because its cheaper to cook own food then constantly having to buy pre-made products. Music was awesome, location was extremely convenient being that it was close to the train station and within walking distance of museums and other sights. I didn't like the smoking side of things with the hostel but I was aware that you allowed it so can't really say anything against it. The free lockers were very much appreciated.

Nice place, no kitchen , breakfast isn't worth much. Shower in my room was really clean and nice, bed was comfy. Very very laid back. Good smoking and drinking environment downstairs. Stairs were a bit harsh. But all in all, it was a nice hostel, friendly staff, clean and fun. Good price too. cost me €50 for four nights. EXCELLENT location. Just inbetween the dirty side of the dam and the really nice part (haarlemstraat).

Great little hostel in Amsterdam that is in the city centre but away from the craziness of most of Amsterdam. The breakfast is nice with a boiled egg and toast for free. They also put all the leftover boiled eggs in a bowl after breakfast at 11am and you can grab as many as you like for a snack :) The staff are mostly nice but some are very deadbeat as though they have had personality bypasses. Only annoying thing was that we booked a 16 bed room only to find 20 beds in there...

It's a nice place to stay for some days, the bath and bedrooms are cleaned up every day about at 10:00am. In the bedroom for 20 people there are 2 bathrooms with good showers, what it's great. The staff are really really helpful and kind. It's a good place to know people if you are not unsociable. There are really a lot of people smoking joints in the hostel, but, please, if you dont want to see people smoking joints, get out of Amsterdam! I recommend for all that desire a good place to rest! =D

We loved Bob\'s, great atmosphere, great staff. Just 3 minutes from Dam and train station! Too cold in the dorm though.

You have to be a hardcore backpacker on a really low budget to stay here, I just didn't have what it takes! I booked for two nights but only stayed one, I found the place dingy, most of the staff were really nice but the man who checked me in was downright rude, there was only one mouldy shower and one toilet between 16 ladies and the reception area was always full of smoke. Maybe this place is your thing, unfortunately is it definitely not mine. However, perfectly situated close to everything!

Very recommended hostel in Amsterdam. Depending on the shifts they allow smoking in the lobby which is a nice place to retreat if you want to hang out with friends. Awesome people from all over the globe can be found here and the 16 bed-bedrooms were unexpectedly large, quiet, clean and with direct look on one of the main streets in the city centre. Go for it!

I stayed here for one night, and once was enough. The beds are uncomfortable, showers are gross, and the place smells like pee. The lockers are on the smaller side and will not fit your trekking backpack or suitcase. Bob's has all the basics and is one of the cheapest options in town, but it is grungy and I would rather pay a few euros more for a cleaner place with less than 16 beds in one room.
