Bob's was a cool place with chill atmosphere. I really liked the 18-30 rule because it made it feel like it was actually a youth hostel. Overall it was a good place in a great location. Nothing was extraordinary but there was nothing to complain about.

Slept in a corner bed next to the window. Couldn't close it so was quite cold through the night plus the noise from people and traffic was not good.

Had a really good stay at Bobs, bit pricey over the weekend but most hostels in Amsterdam are. We were in the second building it was a great location really close to dam square but on a quieter road so no noise at night. If you want to get bikes I would highly recommend right next door to the second building of bobs, such nice guys and cheap too!! Great hostel would definitely stay again

Lockers were broken in the room and we had no hot water after the first morning but this hostel had a great atmosphere and was in a really good location, so we'd stay again :)

We had a fab stay, its right next to Centraal Station which is really convenient. Unfortunately the facilities weren't great, there is no kitchen to use, only a shared fridge. Otherwise had a fantastic time

Really good youth hostel, easy to speak to people and located right in the city centre. Would stay again, very pleased

Not a bad hostel' pretty standard although I wish there was a kitchen to use. You can store food in their fridge that they have in the back room. The rooms are cleaned daily (and they are clean!) but it's the people that stay in them that make the rooms quite dirty. Within 2 hours of cleaning the room was dirty again. But that's the people staying there, not the hostel's fault. Hostel is pricey for what you get, but what hostel in Amsterdam city centre isn't pricey?

It was a decent hostel, wouldn't recommend it if you want to hang around and meet some people

The location is amazing, the bed was really comfortable and the wifi worked well. Although the shower worked well the bathrooms were filthy. The lights in the room didn't work at all. It would be fine if you were only in Amsterdam as a stop over but other then the location there isn't anything good that would make me recommend it.

The location of the hostel in relation to the train station (5 minute walk) and tourist attractions (2 minute walk) is definitely the best aspect of the hostel. We stayed in the second building of the hostel (1 min walk from the main hostel).Clean sheets and room. Our room had an ensuite which was a bit small and had a leaking tap but it didn't effect our stay! The wifi was good and we got it in the room. Bit expensive for a hostel but the best one in amsterdam! No kitchen

Loved Bobs. Great place to meet other travellers. Want to meet more of us Brits, come here!! Comfy beds, cleanish bathrooms. Best showers in town, thanks Bob. Can smoke joints but can not smoke cigarettes, okay if you only smoke weed? Greats atmosphere downstairs. Centrally located which is a plus. Ta

The common room was not clean and it is too small for all the people in the hostel

The reception area is like a dingy little dungeon, and once even a couple of people are in there with their bags there's hardly any room to move around. The stairwell up to the rooms was also gross. None of the bathrooms had soap. The room however, was surprisingly neat and clean, lots of space. The bed was really comfy and I slept well. For your valuables there are lockers under the beds but most of the lockers are busted and worthless for keeping your stuff safe. Pretty good location though.

Waited 1 hour 30 mins for check in. Room was damp, shower had an awful smell, rooms weren't very clean, no facilities to make food. Did not enjoy our stay at bobs youth hostel!

The guy that checked me in looked like he had no idea of what he was doing. Took entirely too long to check people in. Nice guy, but needs to get his act together. The rooms were spacious but there was only one bathroom for over 10 people so that was kind of ridiculous. There was no free breakfast and the common room looked really dirty and unappealing. If you want a good stay in Amsterdam definitely check out the fling pig

I had a good experience at Bob's! For pretty much the first time ever, the hostel was better in real life than it appeared online. The location was great, I felt safe (except for the luggage room, which can be accessed by anyone in the hostel), and the staff was pretty nice. The shower was kind of gross, but the rest of was fine. Definitely not as sketchy as it seems!

This hostel is good if you're just looking for a place to sleep. Don't expect much else. The rooms are packed pretty tightly with beds. The shower, which had mold in it, had major drainage issues and flooded our room every time someone showered, and no one working did anything to try to help. I actually had to pay for an extra towel so I could dry the floor after my shower. There were only 5 outlets in the whole room. The man working the front desk was extremely rude. It wasn't a pleasant stay.

The location was perfect. It was in the heart of Amsterdam and was an easy walk to a lot of main attractions. The staff was very helpful and kind. The rooms were average, but the atmosphere made up for any shortcomings. The only down side was that there wasn't really any place to change if you were in a mixed dorm.

Shortage of plug sockets, few that were in the room didn't work and there was a shortage of lockers. Other than this, no complaints. WiFi worked very well, rooms/bathrooms were basic but clean. Location is fantastic.

One of the cleanest hostels on the planet. If you are looking for a place that doesn't cost one million euro close to Amsterdam, this is your place. Clean bathrooms, fresh linens, wide open kitchen... It has the works! Awesome Aussie staff working when I stayed with a friend from back home.
