Very friendly and helpful staff, though a bit overwhelmingly hospitable. Their tour desk put me on a great Halong Bay trip and they helped me get a plane ticket to Saigon during Tet - quite an accomplishment. Leak in my bathroom though, and someone else had left clothes in the armoir, which hadn't been cleared out. Bodega is in a central location and I had a good experience overall.

i was staying at the dorm room which smelled like mould, bathroom door wasn't closing and there were ants. cleaning ladies came in the morning and were behaving very loud - laughing and talking, not paying attention that some people were sleeping. i was shocked to find out that they didn't change bedding after people who checked out, but they just made the bed and put a new towel. don't book trips or tickets with them 'cause they overcharge a lot (10$ on a bus ticket)

Amazing English-speaking staff. They were very friendly and accommodating. I stayed in a private room, which was spacious and clean. They turn over the rooms daily and offer free water and breakfast. The location is fantastic - right on a major shopping street and very close great food (street and restaurant).

Excellent staff, very helpful.Good free breakfast.Great lcation,10 min walk to the lake, and 15 min walk to the prison. There is also a water puppet show near the lake, which for the price is worth seeing. The only complaint would be the expensive tours and bus tickets booked through the hotel. We done the Sapa tour and the staff let us have a shower and breakfast when we came back, ready for our trip to Halong Bay.Our train to Sapa was overnight, and they kindly let us stay in our room until 8pm.

The staff were SO friendly and SO helpful. I was there during the new year which meant most things were closed but they were very good and providing information about things to do and options for travel. LOVED this hostel and would definitely recommend it.

Met really wonderful people while staying in the dorm. Breakfast was really good and the staff were friendly. I booked my Halong bay tour and bus trip to Vientiane through the hotel and turns out i paid a lot more compared to other people who bought through travel agents so i suggest to scout around for better prices either for the Halong bay tour or bus to Vientiane than buying from the hotel. Overall, i enjoyed my stay and would recommend the place.

I came from Hanoi to India. Now I have been in India a little while and have experienced the service to be cold if not nonexistent I appreciate Bodega a lot. At first I found their over the top engagement style overwhelming and may be a little insincere. But their effort is really impressive.

I came to Hanoi at highest season of Vietnamese traditional New Year and staff was very nice when my booking was expired and managed to extend some more days for me. In addition, it would be a mistake if did not refer to Halong bay trip hotel organized for me, the price was decent and the best quality of service. Hopefully, everything in my ongoing trip will take place smoothly like in Bodega hostel. Good hostel

The staff at Bodega are very welcoming and friendly. They were always on hand to give advice or opinions if asked. They were remodelling the front lobby whilst I was there and were very apologetic for the appearance and disruption but they managed to maintain a good level of service and updating you as to what was going on.

It`s an amazing hostel, with friendly staff, being available 100% to help you, to give you a glass of water or even just a smile. The rooms are quite nice and the breakfast it`s for the champions. I did stay with my friends for 6 nights and we enjoyed every day in HaNoi and Bodega. Thanks Tam :)

Good simple hostel. I arrived a few days early and they happily moved my booking forward. Dorm room is spacious, and bathroom basic but clean. The bfast is a great start to the day. Location is very good, 10-15mins from train, old town, and all the major sights. I booked tours through the hostel. You can easily find cheaper if you shop around, but it is a matter of convenience vs price. The staff are very pleasant and helpful.

The Breakfast was amazing. They yes you before they hear what you say. They also chose to paint the place with and do construction without informing any of the guest. My whole stay there it smelt like a paint can. There were days I couldn't see through the air and the staff was no where to be found. If they knew to evacuate, why would they not tell the guest. I stayed in the dorm and they allowed any one without a room to come in on there own with a key that they provided.

I have stayed in 3 different hotel/hostels in Hanoi. The cost is comparatively lower than others. Triple room is SO big, comfortable and superb. Although the air conditioner and the shower head are a bit old and may not work very well, we feel it is still acceptable with the money that we paid. The Halong Bay day trip that we took are well arranged and good. In addition, the staff are very accomodating and nice.

Quirky hotel and staff nice. Rooms clean and absolutely HUGE! If there in winter be warned, there is no heating / heaters so the big rooms get really really cold. Otherwise a nice place.

The people here are working really hard to make a pleasent stay, although for a traveller in a ripping off culture it feels a little strange ;-) Rooms are very spacious and breakfast is a small buffet. Very clean and highly recommended!

Warm and friendly staff, excellent airport pick-up service and overall greeted with a smile everyday (day or night!). Breakfast was simple but just what you need for a days exploring. Rooms were cold in the evening, extra blankets for the cooler months would be good. Daily cleaning of rooms and fresh towels were excellent. Enjoyed my stay very much.
