Penny is a great person. very friendly and helpful. she told us all about different things to do and she runs a great hostel. it's easy to meet other travelers in the common areas, and she invited all of us out to a local bar in St. Julians on the bay. cheap and definitely worth staying here. my only concern is the long walk up the hill from the bus stop to the hostel. other than that, this place was fantastic. highly recommend staying here.

LOVED Boho, first time travelling alone and Penny made me feel so at home. She is a truly amazing hostess and person, had so much fun hanging out! Room was nice and clean, it was exactly what I wanted out of my holiday with a relaxing, chilled atmosphere. Penny was really helpful when it came to calling people for information regarding activities I wanted to do. I can't fit in all the positive things I want to say about the hostel here, just choose Boho, you'll be glad you did!

Boho hostel was absolutely wonderful and more than we could have hoped for. The location was excellent and a short cab ride from the airport. Located about 10-15 minute walk to the heart of St Juliens and just far enough away from the noise is Boho hostel with a peaceful tranquil garden. Our hostess, Penny was very gracious and offered lots of tips and local information.

Really loved my stay at this hostel even though it was up a few steep hills! The owner was so friendly and welcoming and it felt like staying at somebody's home! The decor was terrific and it lived up to its 'bohemian' description. Clean and good facilities as well. Would like to have spent more time chilling in the garden but only had 2 days, had so much else to do and see in Malta/Gozo. Would recommend for anyone wanting a nice restful stay. Cheers Penny, hope to be back some day :)

Such a wonderful stay. So home-y, very clean, and incredibly welcoming. At first we were nervous about the location (it's a little out of the way), but once you don't have all your luggage, it's not much of a problem at all! Hammocks, a kitchen, couches, a great communal space. I can't recommend it enough!

Perfect staff, thanks to Penny (the owner) the hostel has great atmosphere and it is located in fantastic villa. Moreover there is a good bus connection to Valletta and to other parts of the island. I recommend also Exile Club (the old one) - ask Penny dor the details:)

Boho hostel is the best place in town where to enjoy the real Maltese atmosphere with its garden full of flowers, the relaxed atmosphere and the exceptional service offered by Penny, who is always ready to help and to make you feel at home. It's in a perfect location, close to the center of Peaceville and St. Julians as to Sliema.

The BEST hostel I have stayed in. i agree that it was a little difficult to find initially, but it is so worth it! The hostel was beautiful and fun. Penny was such a great hostess. She was so friendly and helpful. The rooms were nice and bathrooms clean. i love how she decorated the hostel. It is really closed to the bay and there are short buses into anywhere you want to go. Maltese hospitality is the BEST!

Can not think of any criticism, if anything comes up I will tell the owner personally, for I pretend to pay a visit once in a while to enjoy the place once again.

Possibly the best hostel in Europe, definitely the best place in Malta! Exquisite decor, great facilities and a really cool garden. A little (very large) paradise in Malta to meet other travellers a great base to explore the island.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The staff here are really friendly and were happy to go out of their way to make me feel at home and remember every guests’ name. They were great. They also have a very good knowledge of the island. Everything was also very clean. The one drawback is that the hostel can be a little bit difficult to find initially but after that its good. I had a very enjoyable stay here and I would highly recommend it.

I LOVE this Villa! The garden, the decor, the facilities, the fact that it's impeccably clean.. And of course the staff who really went out of their way to make my stay as great as possible. It really is a beautiful house and you can tell that Penny put lots of love- and thought- into it. Fantastic if you're travelling solo and are after meeting other travellers. Very laid-back place. Good location. Can't fault it! ..

I think "Penny" has done a great job with the place as the place has character with all the essence of her own travels in her Villa. The place is as she describes with excellent facilities kept in very good order. I wish her all the luck as She is hard working and passionate to ensure high class service at the villa. The location is excellent with a good quiet area and plenty of parking compared to places which have none and you end up paying for tickets.

Outstanding hostel, very nice atmosphere and location, and great Maltese hospitality from the owner, Penny. Should be your first choice if you're looking for a chilled out, relaxing and refreshing stay in a calm environment. May not be ideal if you're looking for a party hostel. Anyway, full on thumbs-up from me.

I stayed at Cycas for 5 nights, and had an amazing time! It's located on top of a hill, which is walking distance from bus stops and directions on the website was very detailed. It's hard to miss with the massive windmill & hammocks in the front garden (and Stevens the cat!) all which gave it a chilled out air. The hostel is spacious & clean, and I felt at home! Penny is the most hospitable and friendliest hostel owner ever, she even took me out to pubs with her mates. Grazzi for the good times!
