We originally planned to stay here for 5 days but realized that all the major attractions we wanted to see were a bit farther than expected. So 2 days were perfect to joy ride, visit the Tarsier Sanctuary and Chocolate Hills and head on out. I wasn't a huge fan of the bathrooms (the toilet didn't have a cover nor a toilet seat so you were kind of forced to squat on a "westernized" style toilet). No taxi's are in that area, so save yourself some $ & rent a motorbike and you'll be fine.

Somehow we made it to Bohol guesthouse safe and sound! Takes about an hour from the ferry. They have scooters for rent at the hostel which makes it easier to get around and go on your own to chocolate hills (an hour drive up) or you can take a bus. Facilities are at a minimum. Ps if you talk to the right people a local can take you from oslob to alona beach by boat. Faster and cheaper if you grab enough people. - Kat

The staff were friendly and helpful. We booked a superior double room, which was clean and spacious. We asked to be moved because we wanted a window that opened, the staff were happy to accommodate us. Its walking distance to the town, and staff are happy to help with directions. We hired a scooter from the for the day which was a good way to see the island and a good price! The wifi was pretty intermittent due to the weather, but we found this quite a bit around the Philippines.

I really enjoyed staying in Loboc, Bohol. The owner lives next to the huts with his family and is amazingly friendly, as is his son :) The hostel is a little further away from the pier in Bohol, if you arrive from Cebu. But you can easily get there by local jeepneys. even though it takes some time to get there, it was totally worth it! I stayed there alone (travelling in off-season) and enjoyed the calm atmosphere next to the river. You can do a lot there!
