I was there for a couple of nights and found the staff to be helpful and friendly beyond any expectations. Plus, the Asheville city buses will get you from the hostel to any place in town. Bon Paul & Sharky's is a wonderful hostel that is kept impeccably clean by its charming, helpful and friendly staff. The hostel is located in an old home with a lot of character, tidy rooms, freshly laundered sheets, and scrubbed bathrooms. Perhaps more importantly, the staff - Justin, Debra, the other Justin, and Katie - will make your stay immensely enjoyable with their great conversations, local knowledge and laid back (but still very organized) attitudes. It's in a cute neighborhood, but far from downtown. The bed's weren't as comfortable as they could have been, and the shower was clogged in the morning, but I'd probably stay there again, 'cause the folks working there are really nice, and they have a hot tub!It's in a cute neighborhood, but far from downtown. Pretty good hostel, very home-like feel. The beds were very uncomfortable though (more so than in a usual hostel), and the security was minimal - the lockers were flimsy and there were no keys provided, so anyone could walk into the rooms.
