Overall this is a well located and affordable Hostel with only 20 minutes from Osaka's main station. Luckily the Hostel is literally 2 minutes from the nearest train station. Although the hostel is great, I would not recommend the 6 bed mixed dorm because: 1) It was the only room which was next to the reception (meaning that you would get woken up by people using the kitchen/social room next door 2) The room wasnt very soundproofed 3) The room didnt have a lock.
This was a really nice hostel in a good location, right beside a station on the loop line around Osaka. The staff were friendly and overall a really nice place to stay.
Nice hostel within very easy walk of the loop line. Rooftop bonsai garden is fabulous.
Bonsai was one of the best hostels we stayed at in Osaka (out of 5). If it weren't for the far location from city center, I would consider it the best. The hostel is perfectly laid out and the rooms and bathrooms are both great. The common room is nice and you can meet people in there easily. The staff and cleanliness were both top notch. Bonsai really impressed me and I would definitely stay there again if given the chance.
Very nice hostel , murals were beautiful! Small issue with air conditioning but lovely otherwise.
Great and helpful staff. Nice kitchen and lounge
A small cozy guesthouse with a great location & friendly crew.
The staff was very nice. we stayed in both a dorm and a private room which were both of reasonable quality. A good budget acommedation with easy acces to trains with the station right besides the guesthouse.
The guesthouse is easy to find and it is near to the JR momodani station. We can easily travel to the sight spots and shopping spots. The beds are big and comfortable, even though it is too soft for me. It is a small but warm guesthouse. Staff are so nice.
Great hostel, interesting art on walls and bonsai garden, great staff, good beds, decent facilities. It is real close to the station, but the station isn't the best to get to and from because you'll always have to transfer. Small lockers, and only front door lock. Good for a few days, but not a long trip.
IT REALLY IS VERY CLOSE TO A TRAIN STATION! Was super happy when I found that out! It is also very close to an ATM, a Lawson store, and a good izakaya. The lounge room has board games! The atmosphere is definitely very youthful. Unfortunately, the hostel doesn't offer lockers or luggage room--it is a bit cramped there. It also doesn't have an elevator so it's not very luggage-friendly. Few signs around public facilities means people forget they're in Japan and be messy the way they do back home.
it's good. facility is good. i'm not sure this hostel is the best hotel in the Osaka, but If you choose this hostel, you would not regret. However the only thing that i'm sad is we have to take a subway to go to Namba. Location can be a little bit matter, but it is close so it is not a big problem.

Excellent place to stay, highly recommended; warm atmosphere. I felt like the staff really cared about our needs, and went above and beyond to help us with our questions. It was the first place we stayed during our first visit to Japan, and we were not disappointed. Also within just a minute walk from the JR train station, shops/cafes/restaurants, etc.
Had a lovely stay. Everything we needed.

I had a great time at Bonsai Guest House. I stayed for 9 nights Positive: The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Always hot water for a shower and shower gel and shampoo is provided for free Good atmosphere Great travel links Negative: The bed was a bit creaky
An excellent hostel to stay at. Good location, friendly staff and a good atmosphere. Would defiantly go back again.
Loved this hostel! The staff are real friendly and helpful and have good English. The common area felt like home, it has really good facilities for cooking and is very spacious in comparison to some hostels we have stayed in. They have a lovely roof garden with loads of bonsai trees. It is really convenient being literally around the corner from the Osaka loop line, max to minutes walk and also very close to a great supermarket. Would definitely recommend this hostel!!
During our stay it was a great little hostel, exactly what we wanted, we made some good friends. We liked that it was not a massive hostel, a bit more intimate and friendly (our favourite atmosphere of the hostels we stayed in) with a good spread of nationalities too as didn't fancy going to Japan and staying with only brits and Americans). Megumi on reception was really warm and welcoming too :)
