This is a basic hostel with a cool restaurant overlooking the Laos border. We travelled here independently thinking we could do the trip cheaper than one of the deals from Chiang Mai to get to laos, however we ended up paiyng about 150 baht more, so just do it through a tour and save yourself some hassles! Also get Laos visa beforehand, there were big queues and it took about an hour to get processed in very hot and humid conditions. This also delays you getting a good seat on the slow boat.

Perfect to stay the night before crossing into laos. the owner is a legend and biked us to the atm twice and sang his songs, top bloke. friendly restaurant opposite too, good food and a great owner again called mr sayun. he supports the right football team too!
