This hostel has a good breakfast and good beds, and an amazing shower. But for me it is always very important how is the people working in such places, and in this hostel they are not exactly nice. I felt all the time that I did not exist, or that I was bothering. The rest normal.

Helpful and friendly staff, it is a bit of a trial getting from the road to the top of the stairs and then to the top of the house but that is not a surprise, it is advertised in their information. It makes you feel like you have conquered Mount Everest by the time you get there! It is relatively quiet which is a nice escape in a noisy city such as Rio. Not a party hostel but they do have a bar open at night, good location in walking distance from Lapa. I really liked this hostel.

Hated the location. Would not walk home at night alone. Bums everywhere 2 minutes from the place. Dont stay here as a single female. Only good for a group going down to drink in Lapa There was no atmosphere. Very little area to meet and mingle. Wifi was not great There was never soap in the bathrooms. I also had to personally get toilet paper 2 times. The showers had mold everywhere. The beds were at least quite nice with the curtains.

Nice hostel if you are looking for a quiet place. It's clean, cozy and the staff is great. The kitchen is clean but poorly equipped. Breakfast is very big. Internet is working. Pay attention: you have to climb a long staircase to reach the hostel from its main entrance.

Excellent staff, close to Lapa, nice common room, quiet, very clean. The kitchen could be more equipped. From Lapa you must take a taxi or a bus because it's on a hill and you have to climb a long staircase.

Good breakfast

Very clean and safe hostel. Excelkent staff. It's not a party hostel, but a quiet one. Breakfast is huge. Internet works well. The kitchen is poorly equipped. There is a log stare to climb to reach the hostel. Recommended.

Safe, clean and good breakfast. It's a good hostel if you are looking for quiet place. Staff is very kind. Internet wifi works. The kitchen is small but fibe and clean. Take a bus to get there because it's on a hill above Lapa.

Staff were really friendly and helpful. Loved the location really peaceful, short walk to Lapa and the bus stop. Really good breakfast with a wide variety of things to choose from. Bed was really comfy and the curtains round the bed add extra privacy. Decent sized lockers too. Only downside was that the lock on one of the doors of the shared toilet was broken, but easily fixable.

Very close to Lapa, but you must take a bus because it's up on a hill. Pros: breakfast is free and great. Shower works well and toilets are clean. Internet wifi goes fast. Staff is very kind. Cons: you must climb a long stair from the entrance to the hall; the kitchen is poorly equipped; they have a cat.

The hostel is in a safe area and 5 minutes walking from Lapa. It's very clean, the kitchen is ok and dorms are clean and silent at night. The only problem is that you must climb a long staircase to enter into the hostel from the street level. The staff is great and very kind. Internet is fast. The common area is big and you also have free coffee. Breakfast is pretty big and varied.

Thanks to all the team of Bossa in Rio Hostel. We have loved our stay there, and it's due mostly to your kindness and your open-mind. Thank you again and keep on listening to good music and have good DVD on the place ... We also enjoyed very much the breakfast and the caïpirinhas at happy hour... And we don't forget Tapioca : say hello to him !! Anne and Rafaël (from France)

The aircon and breakfast were fantastic and all the staff were wonderful! I loved it here! The location is beautiful and was perfect for me. I felt safe in this neighbourhood.

Best staff in South America. Really liked this place

cant be better!! they are in full details!

We were robbed by knife 20m from the hotel so the area is unsafe. The guy guessed the spot we were robbed at so its happened before and he didnt bother to tell us. He was then rude and confrontational and offered one pot noodle on credit only 'out of courtesy' but we could have no more (we would pay at check out) even though we had no cards or money on us. We moved the next day and were refused a discount of one night. Much safer to stay in ipanema/any other hostel. #worsthostelever

The location of this hostel is perfect for nightlife in Rio. It's a really charming venue that has great views of the city. The staff is accommodating, too. The only downside to this hostel is the higher price, but I'd say it is worth the extra bucks.
