really enjoyed my stay at amsterdamse bos, the cabins were lovely and cosy, the staff were very friendly and more than welcome to answer any questions we had, had to catch 2 different buses to get into the cite center which took about 40 mins each way, but it deffinatly didnt feel that long, lovely place to stay, and will deffinately be returning there.

If you come prepared for camping and with a car this place would be great. If you're the "backpacking" type this place is useless and shouldn't be used as a hostel. Location is far from the city centre, the common room is just picnic tables in a cold room, no fridge, didn't feel secure and high associated costs. For example- transit= 8 euros at least, shower= 2 euros at least, sheets=5 euro, towel=2.5 euro. Toilet papers not even included. Not worth it. You spend more than you think in the end.

Thank you a lot for your care and information that you ve provided before our coming. That was very helpfull! I wish to find bakery and more food in camping shop, but it was low season. Anyway we were glad to find our house with great heating even for winter time and clean and convinient facilities. Best place to stay for this price, more it will in summer!

Nice silent place close to the Shirpol airport (just a 15 minutes on a bus). Tiny wood houses. Wi-Fi. Nice :)

For small budgets, this place is ideal. The staff is willing to help and speaks several languages. Parking is easy and safe. The subway is a bit far but the staff explains very well how to reach town. Otherwise several buses stop are around the area and the night buses stop near the camping place. The place is clean and safe. The environment is very charming.

There is no sheet on the bed so you must bring youself's. And when onboarding of the accommendation, they ask for a extra 5 euros for the heating thing. Actually, in winter, you must pay for this.

Camping area is excellent. Basic stuff where there. BUT staff was not polite. They were rude. I have never meet some one like them.

We have appreciated this travel next to Amsterdam. Amsterdam Bos is a very clear camping (shower, toilets) and staff is very friendly. Netherteless, this camping was far from Amsterdam...about 30minutes by train.

My friend and I got a small private cabin for $16 Aus each a night which was great. Has a great camp kitchen to cook and the supermarket is a 15 minute walk away. The metro station is a 15-20 min walk but they run so often so getting into town way easy - it was like a 35min train to Amsterdam Central. Free Wifi all over the camp ground. Dont stay here if you want to be in the city. We did 3 nights here and 3 in the city which was good.

The description of the hostel is highly misleading when you are booking the trip. It is not a fifteen minute walk from the metro. It's a thirty minute walk and you walk along a highway with no room for pedestrians as cars fly by honking their horns at you. Everything from towels to basic heat in the middle of winter is an extra charge. The night bus DOES NOT stop right in front of the cabins and the ride from the center of town to the site by bus is well over an hour. Don't stay here.

Although it was a bit far out of the city, the easy train ride in and how cheap it was compensated well! We had a great time!

We booked a private room for 6 people and we did not have any heating at all. The night was extremely cold and even though I emailed them saying that I was going there with a child nobody told me that we should take sleeping bags prepared for low temperatures. They said that they provided blankets but they did not mention that they were not enough. The pictures that are on the hostel world web page do not correspond to the room we got.

The hostel is NOT 15min by the metro-station by walk, there are 25/30 mins (and we walked very quickly!). If you wanna be near the hostel there are busses but there are expensive. If you stay some days with friends that's ok, you rent a bike and you can go to Amsterdam by bike (only 6kms), but if you stay only one night or two, take a room closer the center.

Hello, This was our first experience in this type of camping. Usually we stay in Appartment or Hotel but reaaly this was a wonderful experience but because of our tight schedule we could not roam about in the camp area what we wanted to do. But most important thing was that we had a great time there. Everything was so well arranged and it looked like a small home away from home for all of us. We met many people of different countries while we working together in the kitchen.

Location is very far from the city centre, requiring a half an hour train ride and 10 minute bus. Can be very hard to find without google maps! Showers required a token for a 6 minute shower. Staff were quite rude on our arrival and when asking us to check out. The other guests were all very friendly and it is a good location if you do not intend on going into the city regularly.

The camp site is great but as other review have already said, it is a bit far from the town centre. Brilliant transport links though so maximum of an hour on the buses to get into Amsterdams.
