Before I even begin, I will say- this place is GREAT!! Now- you have to understand... this is Bogota. The entire city seems to shut down at 8:15pm, and promptly thereafter... welcome to the land of the lurking crackheads. That's the only reason why I rated Security as 'good' instead of 'Excellent'. There are quite a few homeless people in the neighborhood, and many of which will unabashedly display their love of crack for you, free of charge. With that being said, this is a great place! :)

Was a bit annoying that you couldn't open the main door by yourself and always had to wait for the staff to open it. The rooms were all super cold and showers were just not hot enough. Unfortunately the room just looks nice and modern but lacks on practical aspects: although it was huge (kind of junior suite) it didn't have a mirror nor hooks for the jackets and the position of the TV was very uncomfortable.

Great staff! Jonathan is the best! A great place to stay, very clean, very nicely decorated, it has like new bathrooms, a nice terrace and comfortable and warm beds to stay warm through the cold nights of Bogota. I highly recommend it!!! I spent a great new years eve party there!!

Unless there is absoluelty no other choice do not stay at Casa violeta. It is dirty, the staff are exceptionally rude, breakfast is not included on check out day or a bank holiday I.e. New years day, There is no 24 hour coffee, the bar is closed and dark and did not even have beer to sell at 6pm on new years eve, The water advertised as hot is cold and there is 24 hour security providing you are happy to wait for up to 20 minutes after ringing the door bell. It has no atmosphere,a shambles.

This is a fantastic hostel, right in the middle of La Candelaria district, the owner couldn't do more to make me feel welcome and help me out with all my enquiries. I really highly recommend staying here, especially the private rooms which all have a different theme and are really comfortable and stylish.

Good hotel to stay, but inform upfront if there is a party. Our last ioght there was a party in the hotel, all night long loud music, a pitty, cause it was a good place to stay.
