Brilliant social hostel! Cleanliness wasn't the best but the atmosphere and staff more than made up for it. As a female travelling on my own I couldn't of asked for a more sociable, friendly hostel for a party weekend. The location has quite a bad reputation but I have never had any problems and there are some great places to eat and drink. I will definitely be going back !!!

If you just want a cheap place to stay in Sydney and don't care about the rest; stay here. The staff is nice and helpful, but that the only positive thing I can say about this place. The neighbourhood is not really safe. The floor is always sticky, the windows are broken, the toilets are broken. People puke everywhere and make noise the whole night long.

nice people, good prices. if you want a quiet, clean place, don't go there (but then, actually, don't be a backpacker ^^) if you don't care about a bit dirt, if you want to get to know other backpackers quickly, if you like partying, it's the right place for you. I'd recommend a room with a bathroom and a smaller room (e.g. 6 beds) if you have a light sleep ;) I enjoyed my time there, thank you guys :)

Quite a lot of bugs. It's kind of a party hostel so it's easy to find nice people. Be carefull, breakfast finishes at 10:00 and at 10:01 they take the jam out of your hands if you didn't finish preparing your toasts.

If you like cockroaches, go !! The door couldn't be locked, the key was useless. You have to give 5$ deposit to borrow spoon and bowl ! They're watching the bread for breakfast. we're not children !!!!!

This was a great place to stay, but I had a very bad experience because of one staff member who set up an airport shuttle for me and told me the wrong departure time so I had to pay $50 for a taxi on top of the $12 shuttle fee. When my flight was cancelled and I came back to stay another night they wouldn't reimburse me for their mistake or even set me up with a free room for the night. It seemed as if they didn't care they cost me money because they didn't know the correct departure time.

The price-performance was very good. Staff is very very freindly, Forest is the best in explaining about the whole world. We really enjoyed our stay there!

I had an amazing time at this hostel and ended up staying there for almost 3 months in total. The atmosphere is really good and its located in the heart of Kings Cross. Even if it is by far not the cleanest hostel you can find, I absolutely recommend it

The place was a dump, not very clean at all but the people were so up for a laugh and for going out that it didn't matter. The reception staff were also awesome!

Manager who checked me in was awesome he even met us outside to help with the luggage. Downsides are lots of people are long term residents and were loud as can be. The morning of my checkout I was asked 3 times if I was checking out this was 9:30 am and this goofy dumb blond guy wouldn't stop pestering me even though it was a 10:30 checkout time. But no doubt an excellent location though only 3 showers and two communal toilets

Staff very helpfull, could not have done more to make sure we got the best out of our trip. My only thing was it was a bit like an 18 - 30 holiday. I love a drink and a party but did feel a bit old. So if your young and want to party its a good place for you.The showers could do with updating but were hot.

I had a really great time here. The staff are friendly and helpful and the place had a great vibe. The hostel could do with a bit more TLC. The light bulb in 2C wasn't fixed while I was there and I think our fridge might need a look at as well. One suggestion I do have is to maybe put up some hooks in the bathrooms so you have somewhere to hang towels and clothes, that would be really helpful! All the best in the future Brado's!!

Usually the more unkempt a hostel is, the cooler the people are. The location wasn't the greatest (when you're sober, King's Cross isn't the best place to be), the rooms weren't very clean, there were always bugs crawling around, there was never hand soap in the bathrooms, but I enjoyed my stay. You learn to adapt to places like this especially when the atmosphere is great and people are always being social and going out - still enjoyed my time here!

The hostel was OK to stay in, but I wasn't expecting the number of Cockroaches that were there. Not because it was dirty, but there were hundreds of them!

stayed in this hostel over christmas and it was great, however i would only stay in this hostel if you enjoy drinking every night and going out.. if that is not what you are looking for then you should stay elsewhere.. free wifi is great aswell, especially as some hostels in sydney charge $40 a week.
