We shared a room with 6 other people that were loud until 2am. They seemed oblivious to the fact that other people where in the room. The location isn't near the center of town, although the hostel did have hourly free shuttle service to downtown. Cleanliness was at best average.

This hostel is a lot of fun and the staff are amazing,... so helpful and so friendly. The rooms are nice and spacious and they all have a balcony I would definitely stay here again!!

The Brisbane Backpackers is one of these big hostels where you are just another number. The Receptions is chronically understaffed, which is probably also the reason for the slight unfriendliness by the staff. Our room was horrible, just a smal window in a 8 person dorm and the door didn't lock.

I had a very nice stay in this hostel in a 6 bed dorm. The location is good, the staff was very friendly, the rooms are ok and they have a well equipped (but as in many other hostels rather crowded) kitchen. At night it was a bit noisy. The shuttle service works well if you want to go from the hostel into the city but if you want to go from the city (bus stop) to the hostel, you have to give them a call (I didn't know this before).

it is a very bright and fun hostel, there is a very handy free shuttle mini bus that takes you to the centre of town and back every hour, which is really great because the hostel is a little bit out of town (takes about 30-40 to walk it). overall a very fun place to stay!

Its just your average hostel but probably not somewhere to stay if you want to sleep at night as the bar downstairs makes it almost impossible. Also hard to sleep due to no fans/air-con in the room and with no security screen on the door my roommates closed the door at night making it extremely hot. Don't bother with the internet, use a cafe coz 90% of the time it didn't work. Shops are nearby and staff are helpful. Kitchen and amenities ok but kitchen very untidy.

Lovely, friendly staff, helpful in local tips. South Bank is a great area and the free hourly shuttle into the city was fantastic! Hobs in the kitchen were in desperate need of fixing as only half of them worked which led to queues. Security could be better as anyone can walk in. A good place if you're looking for a party hostel!

Cool place, kinda weird about the alcohol rule here, only allowed to buy there stuff. Beds were fairly comfy and I like the key card access to everything, its easier to hold on to and just convient. Dorm rooms have their own balcony's too super rad cause most hostel dont have that expect the Banana Bungalow in West Hollywood, CA U.S.A. Would stay here again if I wasn't traveling solo.

Very welcoming & accommodating hostel & staff. Shuttle service is brilliant as it can get you into/out of town very quickly but the location is good enough that a walk into/out of town is nice as well. Lively atmosphere & clean facilities (room stays clean if others are clean as well). Good offers within the hostel & i would stay again as well as recommend to others.

Staff were friendly and helpful, free shuttle service was awesome. Delicious hamburger and the best hot chips I've ever tasted from the dinner bar. Would recommend this hostel to any traveller wishing to stay in the west end of Brisbane.

Great hostel - only bad point to make is one night, Tues 16.08 - number of guests were very loud and disruptive in the early hours of the night. Our rooms were right above the games area, bar, etc. so we were very disturbed. I mentioned it to the night caretaker, and he was apologetic and said a group had come in late, no key and drunk - troublesome he said. Anyway, next night we slept like babes - so fine. Would recommend the hostel to anyone - great bus shuttle service too. Many thanks.
