Very clean, lots of hot water, nice rooms. Not much character or fun, but a perfectly practical place to stay.

From the fantastically designed theme rooms to our friendly front desk & housekeeping staff, we at the Chelsea Star pay great attention to all our guests.
We escort all of our guests to their rooms personally, while giving them useful hints for their stay in NYC. Our shared baths are among the cleanest and the most modern anywhere around.
We are located in the heart of midtown Manhattan just a short walk from The Empire State Building, Herald Square, and Madison Square Garden.
Please note that US tax is due upon arrival. Your must be over the age of 18 (even if accompanied with a parent) to stay in one of our Dormitory rooms.
Check-in after 1pm.
PLEASE NOTE: Taxes are not included in rates shown, these are added on to the balance due on arrival at the hotel. Sales tax + NY tax + NYC OCCUPANCY tax
