Good hostel overall, the only minus was that they charged for wi-fi and internet. Helpful staff, location average. They sell good food (lunch and dinner), you can buy and mail postcards from the hostel, good rooms, clean, free airport pick-up was good, good kitchen.

We were really worried about some reviews but in total the stuff is very friendly and helpful. We also did the Soweto township tour without any circumstances. The hostel also includes a good breakfast and a Free airport pickup, which is very helpful.

Stayed 5 nights. When guest vacates only bottom sheet changed, not doona cover so next person sleeps under same cover as previous guests (realised this as guests left). Carpet in dorm not vacuumed for ages. Dirty mop left in ensuite. Cannot lock dorm door. Soweto tour - agree with other comments. Breakfast OK but only one morning were eggs ready at 7.00am - usually after 7.30am. Would not recommend.

The "Soweto & City" tour was bog standard. The guide offered minimal local insight & once we reached Soweto we were handed over to another "voluntary" guide who proceeded to offer us a minimal tour (covering about 30 metres) and STRONGLY advise us that it would be a deep insult if we did not offer a family we encountered on the way a tip of 100R (approx £10) at the minimum. Our double room was directly below the bar and the non-stop music/banging/dancing made it impossible to sleep. AVOID!!
