I stayed at the Brown Sugar twice - once in a triple room and once in a dorm, which happened to be completely empty. They have a nice and relaxed atmosphere and offer good services, like the free airport pickup that worked excellent and transportation around the city. The beds need new matrasses and the whole place looks a little run down, but its clean. Breakfast is not great but free. Staff is friendly, some more helpful than others. Nice pool area at the top of the labyrinthine premises
Staff was friendly, though not as knowledgable about the Mozambique visa as I'd expected from the hostel website (yes you definitely DO need photos and a confirmed accommodation booking). Dorms were nice, shower in ensuite was a trickle so you had to get nice and friendly with the wall to get under the water. Common areas are greats, wifi works, and dinner at the hostel was delicious and plentiful. Not the best location - have to get an expensive shuttle everywhere and pickup can take an hour +
Pretty nice hostel. Not very far from the city centre although I wouldn't recommend walking. The staff is very nice and the rooms are quite comfortable.
