Nice hostel in a perfect location with live music in the evenings. I had a great stay. Highly recommended.

I really enjoyed the Bru. It was clean and having the bar downstairs was very handy. Free wi-fi and very friendly atmosphere. There are no elevators but the staff will carry you luggage for those travelling with more than a backpack. The 6 bed dorm was a little tight but workable.

Not sure if it was Cork or what, but wasn't a fan of this place. TV room is kind of weird and offset, could have been the people staying there at the time but no one seemed friendly and socialable. It just seemed kind of difficult to socialize properly at this hostel unless you were with a group. It's a bar with rooms upstairs, wifi only on ground floor, beds were okay, you need your own lock for the locker and they can't provide you with one. Decent enough I suppose.

Bru Bar and Hostel is in a central location in Cork. Most of the staff are friendly and helpful. As it is by a busy road and above a bar it is not the quietest place especially at weekends. Some of the dorms are a little overcrowded and security is not brilliant. The dorm prices are a little above average but unlike some places most rooms have a clean en-suite toilet and shower. The 'breakfast' is toast and cereal. The perks are 1)central location 2)friendly bar 3)free internet access

Nothing to say because simply perfect. Cheap, clean, safe, and the choice of beers in the pub is excellent! Congratulations.

I really apprecieated the security aspects of the hostel. We got a new room key card every day. I felt safe with my belongings there. Also the kitchen and eating area were very accomodating and communal. It allowed us to meet other travelers in a friendly, open atmosphere. However, the pillows were flat as pancakes and the bedding may have been clean but it was warn thin and had holes in the sheets and pillow cases. They were very uncomfortable to use. The staff knew little about tours.

the bru bar and hostel is the worst hostel i've ever been in. the staff was very hostile, complained that we had booked our room too late (the day before arrival), and made us feel like we deserved to have to switch rooms every day for the three nights we meant to stay there. we stayed in a 6 bed dorm room, but it looked like it was meant for only 1 or 2 persons - the tiniest and most claustrophobic room ever, with a window you couldn't open with waqs terrible cause our roomies laundry smelled.

Solid little hostel. Bar was great to have right there. There weren't power outlets near every bed though and that was a pain to say the least.

great location right next to the bus station. also a short walk away from a few small grocery stores and hey the bar is right inside the hostel so no need to go outside the building for decently priced drinks and free music!

We were only here as a stop over so can't say much about the atmosphere or location since it wasn't a long enough visit... However, our first room was nice but toilet didn't work so we were moved to another (unfortunately more crowded) room - none of these rooms had luggage storage with locks on it and that was a little disappointing. The breakfast was good and the staff was helpful.

My room was closed for repair when I arrived. So I went to someplace else. I wont return there...

My key card did not work very well. I had to try several times to open each door and it's very, very annoying.
