Everything was great! Staff was awesome, great live music and bar downstairs that didnt interfere with sleep, clean and well maintained, no lockers to store stuff but there were several security doors which covered that. Highly recommended!

We found some stuffs under a pillow! Does that mean the bed didn't have been cleaned?

It was an ok hostel. Just above a pub, so you can have a good time and not be too far away from your room. The showers are odd - you have to press a button that activates the water for about a minute. Can't control the temperature, but it was nice. Have to keep pressing that button to have a decent shower. Floors are quite squeaky, so arriving late at night could bother a few people in the room.

loved having smaller rooms with an ensuite as opposed to the norm when you get massive rooms that always seem to have loud snores and other random sounds throughout the night. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. But most importantly the bar downstairs had good beer, great atmosphere, and live music every night

Upset the staff didn't intervene when my room was 10 ft away and a grp of teenagers woke me up yelling for 30+ min at 5 AM. i asked them to quiet down & they knocked on my closed door for 15 min. i didn't have a phone in my room to call reception for help. they easily could hear the noise and didn’t intervene. I checked out that AM and the friendly staff refunded me which was great. So happy w/ staff but not w/ hostel experience. Room clean but their communal kitchen was smelly w/dirty dishes

I had a wonderful experience at Bru. Friendly staff and nice bar with good entertainment. Walking distance to the city centre and close to the bus station so easy to get buses to all tourist locations and the airport. The rooms were clean and having there own bathroom was a real bonus. Fantastic to find a hostel with includes breakfast in the price as well. I would thoroughly recommend Bru Bar to anyone travelling to Cork.

The kitchen was great and you get free breakfast. Downstairs is a small bar with live music. The hostel is very safe with multiple key in locations and you have wifi and locker storage in your bedroom.

I loved the fact that it was a bar and hostel. When we got back late from sightseeing and all we wanted to do was relax, we'd just have a pint at the bar and head back up to our rooms. The staff was super nice and friendly.

It is nice if you are looking for live music, watching live football games. It may not be a good choice if you want to have a deep sleep because it is a little bit noisy. It is better to avoid the bar downstairs. The facilities in the room are quite good. The breakfast provided is quite simple, just grains and breads. The cleaness of the bowls, dishes are soso. It takes 5 minutes to walk to the coach station and around 10 minutes to the merchant streets.

Basic accommadation. Towels in the rooms would be a bonus as we didnt think about them as all other hostels we have stayed in towels were provided as standard. An electric socket near the mirror for drying hair would be good.

For the location of where the place was and what you got for what you paid, I feel the price is a little high. We paid less for better accomodations, better breakfast, more secure luggage storage, and better location.
