The restroom door on one of the rooms had the handle broken. And also, the toilet plugged, so I think the tubulation might be small/weak. But the general trip was very good!

This "hostel" is an old hotel that's now being marketed as a budget alternative. It is in absolutely horrid condition - old smelly carpet in the corridors, half-broken elevator, broken lamps, broken glass in one of our windows and terrible old worn out shower. It is also awfully located, directly next to a prostitutes street in the middle of a bad neighborhood. Cannot stress enough to AVOID this place. Don't let the distance to the city center fool you, it's not worth it, at all.
When we first arrived the man on the reception was really friendly and helpful. He gave us a list of suggested places to visit, which having now visited we really enjoyed. The beds were comfortable and generally the room was clean. The few minor negatives were that the door on the balcony side was smashed and the breakfast was merely tea/coffee/juice and bread.
Would be great to have toaster for the breakfast.
Not very high standards of the rooms (a bit run down) and the hallway smelled of cigarette smoke, however considering the price it was well worth the money. The staff was also very friendly and welcoming, which made the stay quite enjoyable. It was also a pretty central location; we walked everywhere during our stay in Brussels.
Breakfast was good. Staff was very friendly. Rooms were nice. No real common area to meet people but place was nice and enjoyed our stay.
The location was good... Only a 15-20 minute walk to Grand Place, but that is really what you're paying for. The hostel reception looks nice, but the rooms were very run down, dirty and ours stank of smoke. The rooms are a good size however. Breakfast was simple, but fine, bread, juice, cheese and croissants. You can lock the room securely. If you are coming, do not expect much, it is fine as somewhere to sleep, but you will not want to spend additional time there.
