There are some young tenants on the first floor and I think they live there permanently. I can smell their cooking in their rooms, and we've seen them for the 5 days we've stayed there. I'm not sure if it's legal or not since it's really unsafe and can burn the building.

tiny cockroach and some graffitti in the lift, gaps between floorboards in the rooms, but otherwise a very clean motel. Beds made and towels changed every day, spotless cleanliness. The juice @ breakfast was rubbish if you wanted fresh juice but it was perfect for a hangover. ;) walls are a bit thin so you can hear other people but the beds are so comfy I just zonked out anyway. very warm, they keep the heat on all night. nice hot shower, 24/7. walking distance to Grand Place. easy-going staff.

Walking distance to Grand Place. Comfortable beds, friendly staff (it seems like the hotel's run by a family), nice hot shower at all times, the beds are made and towels refreshed every day. Breakfast is simple-yet-satisfying bread with cheese and coffee. On the downside, this is the dodgy end of rue Royal, next to the red light district. Some shoddy furniture. Groups of guys just hanging out in lobby in the middle of the night. Not exactly reassuring for a lone female traveller. good for groups

The Royotel was nothing like we expected. The rooms were very weird. The door did not feel very secure and the blankets felt disgusting. I would never stay here again!

We were a gropu of 5 people and this hostel had a possibility to acommodate us together. We had one own room. This hostel was the second cheapest, which we found and it was in good location, the staff was REALLY HELPFUL AND PLEASANT and we the breakfast was also included. It was nothing special but good. ;-) Just one thing we didn't like: our neighbours were too loud and we heard everything. So: If you want go there, its really good place for 2-3 night but you need ear stoppers. :-))
