All was great! Would go back again! Great location

This hostel was the best I've stayed in UK so far! If you stay there you can enjoy: a free interesting city tour, a wonderful and helpful staff, a good location, free pub crawls every week nights, clean rooms and facilities (which includes a chill out room with a lot of pillows) and last but not least the bus bar!!!

We went to Edinburgh not really knowing anything about the city and without having a plan. We were initially just trying to get away for a weekend. Budget Backpackers definitely exceeded our expectations. We had a great time and were really pleased with the pub crawl and especially the walking tour on Saturday morning. The staff was more than helpful and we thought it was the perfect location. I have already and will continue to recommend this company / location as a hostel to future travelers.

I could not have been more happy with my stay at Budget Backpackers for the weekend. Very student freindly, great/helpful staff, complementary tour and pub crawl offered on the weekdays, as well as clean rooms and bathrooms. All around great choice for the money. Only downside is the 10am check-out time-- but this didn force us to wake up early and see more of the city before leaving-- HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Staff is super helpful and cool. They do need more towels, because they didn't have any when we wanted them... also the constant playing music in the reception and cafeteria could take a break, even though i could not hear it from the room. Also, for privacy, not the best one, since we were staying in a twin room and staff would still come in unexpectedly to change the garbage bag, clean windows, etc. I was actually scared when it first happened, I was still in bed and this guy comes in...

great hostel, good sized room's, lots of bathroom's/toilet's! always an activity on, from party's to wii competitions and walking tours, free wi-fi etc. the shower's take forever for the hot water to come through and the breakfast isnt included, but there is a cafe in the common area that have great meals under 5pounds. i will definatly stay there next time i come back to edinburgh!

I wanted a private room for my stay, so I bought both beds in the twin private room. I thought it was well worth the money. My floor was very quiet, clean, and comfortable. Free breakfast would be better, but you can't have everything. All in all, a good choice.

The hostel was very reasonably priced, had a great atmosphere and the staff were very nice and helpful. Very good if you are by yourself for meeting new people with the nightly pub crawls etc. Facilities were clean and the showers were nice and hot.

This hostel was wonderful. All of the staff members were fantastic. The beds were comfortable enough. The only complaint I have is that the street it's on is quite noisy. It's close to all of the major attractions and in a fun area with lots of bars/pubs. Would definitely recommend it!

I couldn't have been happier with our stay at budget backpackers. It suited our needs perfectly. All we wanted was a place to sleep for a cheap price so we could maximise our time and money exploring Edinburgh. The room was basic - a bed, heater and cupboard and you had to walk down the hall to use the shared bathroom but I did not find this a problem at all. The staff were all backpackers themselves, so they knew exactly what you wanted and needed and they were all friendly. Recommended!

We stayed in the 6 bed dorm and it was great! The beds were real comfortable, the toilets were clean adn the shower is deadly as its powerful! The food is great and that and the drink is pretty good value for money. The location is ideal, and the staff are the best! They're great craic and also help ya out, even when ya stumble in at 4am!

Had a wonderful time, which was way too short. Hostel is within walking distance of just about everything you could want to do/see. The prices for food & drink are very reasonable. It is clean, and the rooms are spacious - it was being repainted while we were there. The staff is absolutely incredible - so helpful with every question you ask & they're good fun.

I really enjoyed! The hostel is very cool and the peoplew ho works there are so nice and happy... I wanna go back soon, I will miss a lot!

Stayed for one night in an 8 bed dorm. Rooms were tidy as were the showers and toilets. I would recommend their free pub crawl, great way of getting to know the people in the hostel. Great location too, about a 5-10 minute walk to the castle and about 5 minute walk to the Royal mile. Didn't have a reason to use public transport due to the central location. Would stay again.

Good vibe to the hostel. Double room was large, but the bathrooms weren't that nice. And the ground floor blasts music late into the night, and the hallways can be very noisy. For the price the room should have had a private bathroom and a TV! Although the staff was very nice and helpful.
