I was pretty happy with this place. It's deceptively big, and was very busy on the Saturday/Sunday I was there, but mostly well organised and clean, and in a fairly handy location. It's certainly on the DIY-side with linen and such but that's not unusual.

Our bathroom was so cold and the water wasn't so hot either. But it was a lot of fun to stay there.

Can't really say anything bad about this hostel. The staff were super friendly and the free walking tour was a great overview of the major sites.

Budget Backpackers is a great Hostel. The rooms are very clean and there is a Locker for every bed in the room. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast for only 2 pounds more is appropriate. We can really recommend this Hostel for a stay in the wonderful city of Edinburgh.

Ideal place to stay in the area. Great free walking tour, OK pub crawl. Short jaunt to the major day attractions and happening night scene. Ask for the traveler's menu at the nearby Castle Arms for some great cheap food, and haggis!
