There was a maintenance at the hostel at the time I stayed there. So all people living on the floor had to breathe the painting they used for walls. Very intoxiating and disrespectful for the guests. I suppose any hotel/hostel should close for the days of maintenance or at least let their guests know in advance about the inconvenience.

Your hostel should NOT be open during your rennovation. The rooms were covered in white dust and dirty, there was noise from the workmen until 2am some nights, the kitchen facilities were being used by the men and we felt very uncomfortable staying with you. This was a horrible suprise after staying with you in 2010. Your staff are very friendly and helpful but the owner should take the decision to close during the work. What a disappointment.

The Bulgakov is located just of Arbat St in the shadows of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Great stucco ceilings in the dorms. The bathroom is not really spacious but spotlessly clean. Bunk beds are kind of wobbly, linen were clean as well. I would definitely stay again.

The most pleasant was that for low price I live in the center of Moscow. Room with private facilities was not big but clean and cozy. Staff not ask many questions and I like it. I did not find there any mystic evidence its a pity ))

Hostel under construction and didn't tell us. No flooring. No door. 5 workmen in the hall outside our room all afternoon. One working toilet because the other stall was full of paint cans and drywall. No real kitchen, just 1 rusty hot plate, a microwave and fridge. Lost power to building twice in first hour we were there. Wifi was not reliable. Did not look anything like the photos on the website and claimed to have already been renovated, but it was in progress. We left before staying 1 night!

the staff of this hostel were very friendly and warm. It is easy to reach REd Square and other touristic places. Rooms are clean but they need to be more careful about sheets and towels. Due to its price, location and the staff, it may be the best hostel in moscow for2-3 days.
