Has locals living here, it's more like a homeless shelter than a hostel. Old guy tho runs it was a little stressed but then I guess putting up with these customers would make you that way. To be honest in need of a good clean and a luck of paint, felt sorry for the old boy who trying to make it a better place. It's ok but there are much better options for same price

Very rude staff, strange people in the hostel, oke for a few nights but not a girl alone.

We arrived at the hostel (which smelt really bad of cigerette smoke) at 3.30pm and we greeted to a note on a piece of paper saying that the reception was closed until 5pm. We only had 24 hours in Nelson so didn't want to waste any moment waiting in the smelly communal area. A long term resident said we could store our bags in his room whilst we explored the town, which was very nice of him, but where is the security in that!? He showed us his room which looked awful so we instead stayed elsewher

quiet little place, quite central and a nice backyard. 4-bed rooms are good, if a little small. some strange folk around though. all in all, good to stay for a few days but not any longer.

The manager is really rude and the hostel is not in good shape. Eg lights not working.
