A wonderful little hostel. The owners really seem to care about the people who stay here, and will greet you at the door and ask you how your day was and how you liked the places you visited. It is family owned and operated. They have free comupters with internet usage, as well as free water, coffee, and you can order food as well. I stayed in a dorm, for 5 USD a day, which had air con; and even though the dorm can hold 8 people, it was never booked with more than 3.

A great place to stay, I cannot remember a hostel with such nice, caring people. Mr Bun Kao is a lovely human being who assisted us with everything and anything we needed.

Mr Bun Kao just like a father to all of us. The staffs were helpful and charm. After travelled from Vietnam to Cambodia to Bangkok, he is still the one we miss so much. Thank you for your overwhelm hospitality during our stay!

Nice and professional staff, but almost impossible to communicate in English. Dorm's shower is archaic. Even worst: they advised me a mini van (Hang Tep bus Company) to head to Bangkok. I booked it. No fee scam at the boundary, but the driver left without me... I had to pick up another van on my own. That's a shame.

Very nice staff, they will book you a tuk tuk driver for your tour around Angkor Wat when you check in. Good hot breakfast. On a street with a lot of guesthouses and small restaurants so there are many options for food at night.

The staff were very nice and helpful, the place is very clean. It's a place for people who wants to stay in a quiet and peaceful place, the only problem I have is the slow wifi connection when you're from upstairs. But overall I have a great stay!

Oh, what can I say... Definitively the nicest hostel I have been staying in! Bun Kao and his family are so welcoming and friendly that you almost feel at home. The guest house is quite easy though, but really clean and comfortable. You should also ask for Makara, the tuktuk driver, to bring you to the Anggkor temples. He is lovely and a very talented photographer who likes to take pictures all day. I warmly recommand this hostel to you. I miss being there and will come back as soon as possible.

We thought we would give this a go based on the great reviews it had been given. We found the staff to be very poor here. We checked in only to be told we would have to change rooms after our first night despite making a booking for 3 consecutI've.The first night we spent in the hostel across the road (dingy horrible place) we were then given a double room (booked a twin) and asked the following evening to move a second time. No apologies no discounts. We saw this happen to others too!

it's the best family run guest house i stayed before, bun kao and other staff is very nice and they are so friendly to chat with, its good for those want to share opinion with locals. i stayed in the 6 bed dorm, it's with air-cond. drinkable water is free to provide there, the lobby is a wonderful place for meeting others. location is close to royal residence, may be a bit far from the pub street, but it's fine that you can rent a bicycle from them, you will need it also when go to angor way.

This is quite possible the nicest, sweetest and most helpful family in all of Cambodia. Was made to feel so welcome here. Really nice place to stay- comfy beds, super-clean bathrooms and lovely staff. The owner was really friendly, helping to arrange Tuk Tuks for cheap. There is also free cold water and green tea and coffee all day. The only room for improvement would be to have lockers in the rooms and more powerful fans. The bottom bunks were very warm during hot season.

Bun Kao Hostel is a great place to stay. It's a perfect distance,10-15min walk from the central area of SR. There are tons of restaurants, markets, and other hostels around. The owner Bun Kao is great. He is warm, helpful, and always smiling. His lovely family lives at the hostel. They all work and help to make the stay for all customers positive. If you stay at this hostel, request Makara as your TukTuk driver or tour guide. He is an amazing person and and takes great care of all his customers!

The hostel was clean, and the location was good, close to nightmarket and pub street . Staffs were nice. On the day I arrived in Siem Reap a tuktuk driver came to pick me up at the airport to the hostel, he was very friendly so I and my friend did a tour to go to temples with him. He showed us 3-4 temples for a day for $15 (Price depends on which temples you want to go) and some nice restaurants and shops, too. You can contact this amazing tuktukdriver:Chan Makara Email: makara_map@yahoo.com, Tel +855 17 66

Good stay there, good place to exit city in direction of angkor wat in early morning. Everibody trying to help you there, included breackfast is good if you do not step out too early. To recommand

The owner was extremely friendly and helpful. The dorm was clean and comfortable and quiet. The downstairs area was a bit lacking in character. You wouldn't really hang out here. Most people seemed to hang out at the place across the street.

Good value for three dollars. The dorms are a little loud but not bad and there is only cold water showers. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Would stay again.

This was a wonderful hostel. Unfortunately they lost our booking due to a power outage on an extremely busy weekend. They bounced us to several other less desirable hotels before finally staying at bun kao. Through this mess the staff were very apologetic and to give them credit they did find us places to sleep when envy thing else in the city seemed booked. So assuming this was just an unlucky circumstance I would recommend bun kao, and would like to emphasize how helpful the staff are.

I want to say nice things about this place as the owner seemed like a good guy, however we didn't spend a single night here despite having booked 2. After arriving late from a horrendous bus journey we just wanted to sleep yet when we tried to check in we were told they were full so we would be moved somewhere else for the night. Replacement was horrible. Went back next day to be told we're too early, check in later. Later once again told they're full despite us booking in advance. Disappointing
