Vee was really helpful with everything, he always made a lot of recommendations and would even take us to lunch, dinner, or breakfast. I was traveling alone and it was a really great place to meet other people, I'd say in all of my travels the people I met there were overall my favorite people that I've met while traveling. Overall a really great place, highly recommend it!

Awesome stay in Chiang Mai! Had a great stay at Bunchun Hostel, the owner Vee goes out of his way to help in anyway he can and show visitors the local Chiang mai scene. If you want a cheap, easy going atmosphere and easy place to meet great people then I'd highly recommend Bunchun!

This is by far my favourite place I've stayed. It's not your average hostel that's for sure. Vee, the owner makes such an effort to help his guests see the real Chiang Mai. If you want to know how the locals live in this town then stay with Vee! The other travellers I met here were all awesome too - it's the kind of place where super-chilled, real travellers will end up staying longer than planned. I had so much fun and the only bad thing was that I had to leave eventually! Cheers Vee :)

Not a great place to turn up to after a 12 hour train ride. The reviews looked great and everyone seemed delighted with it, but it just seemed a bit too weird for me. Mattresses on the floor and tents is ok if you're a hippy. I prefer dorms. Here, you just walk into the "reception/lounge/kitchen/bedroom", whilst you wait to be shown to your little doggy bed. Nice messages for the owner 'Zee'. He was very pleasant. I was really tired and didn't want to speak to anyone. I just wanted bed.

I had a fantastic time. Vee is very helpful and provided useful information about the city and tourist activities, and also booked for me. Was great to see some of the real Chiang MainVee, and I also met some other great people in the hostel who I will keep in touch with. Thanks so much!

staying at bunchun was an absolutely great experience, we had a lot of fun thanks to vee and his very welcoming character. the only downside of bunchun is that it does not give you much privacy as it only consists of one big room, which acts as dorm, reception, bar and sofa-lounge at the same time. dont expect to sleep very well, but the fun is definitely worth the lack of sleep!

First time in Thailand, first time traveling alone, and I'm not gonna lie: I booked this place because of the awesome reviews about the fun atmosphere, the owner Vee, etc. I was not disappointed! This place is FUN and Vee is fantastic. He took us to restaurants, friends' parties, and clubs where we were the only non-locals. The location is near the Holiday Inn, so even if it's not perfect, it's not hard to hail a taxi. And the Bunchun experience is WELL-worth the location trade-off. No contest.

I highly recommend staying with Vee at Bunchun. I did not know what to expect when I made the reservation and I was pleasantly surprised by the friendly atmosphere of the hostel, the wonderful people I met, and of course, the warm welcome of Vee, the owner. My friends and I only had 2 days in Chiang Mai and Vee helped us make the best of it, quickly pointing us to the best activities for our money and time. I will absolutely stay at Bunchun again when I return to Chiang Mai!

If your looking for an inexpensive place with a fun atmosphere, this is the spot for you. It's a bit small and a little out of the way, but the fun and homey atmosphere makes up for it. Plus, with a group, it's only a 20 baht ride to the center of town. In terms or USD, that's less than a dollar a cab ride.

The hostel (and Vee the owner) made my trip to chiang mai, I'd recommend going to chiang mai just to stay at his place. Wackiest time I've had in my life, most highly recommended.
