The breakfast room was really sweet and the rooms were clean, but the showers were not ideal and there were not too many. Apart from that everything was alright.

Awesome hostel right in the heart of Cardiff's night life/shopping center. The staff was wonderful and friendly, the pub was quaint and cozy and all the aspects of the hostel were definitely the best I have stayed at.

Jess on the front was always smiling and happy to help. Was not very busy but still a great vibe and the location cannot be beaten for value for money. As for security thy have lock up facilities for your use and you should take normal travel security precautions like anywhere. All in all 10/10 for me

Best hostel I ever stayed

The man at the front desk was really nice to us and was surprisingly not annoyed by our obnoxious party. The atmosphere of the hostel is really cool, the locals go to the bar on the ground floor and lie down on the beds (yes, beds) or sit on mismatched sofas and chairs. There are many bars, pubs, restaurants and clubs lining the street that we wished we had stayed for more than two nights. The castle is five minutes away, and the shops nearby are awesome, especially the vintage shops.

The "kitchen" is 2 microwaves, a tea kettle, & mini fridge that closes at 10pm. The staff merely checks you in & has nothing more to say after that. The hallway smell of the bathroom which are hit or miss on being clean or flooded from some kind of leak. The lights in the shower room constantly turn off & there is nowhere to put your things or hooks & the floor is wet. Was in 7 bed room. Too many beds in the room & nowhere at all to put luggage. The place looks cool but is a hassle. Wifi is bad.

Cozy hostel. The breakfast was very simple- cereal or toast. It would've been nice to have some fruit or juice considering the amount we paid per night (£20). The location was ideal in that we were close to everything but far from ideal for noise. Since it is located on a walking street in the center of bars and nightclubs, there are people yelling and screaming until 5am.It was helpful that the hostel staff allowed us to keep our belongings before/after checkout/checkin

No proper kitchen, but okay for two nights. Small bathrooms which weren't that good. There was some mould in the male's bathroom. But the atmosphere and decoration of the hostel is fantastic.

There is no kitchen. Just two microwaves, and a mini fridge. But beds were comfortable, wifi work very well. Staff were friendly and helpful. Location was right in the centre of town.

When we just arrive we stayed 1hour just because the guy in reception had some problems to discount us the money we had paid for the booking. Then we'd bought pizzas to cook this night but was 10 and the guy doesn't let us cook (kitClose10) & after discussing he let us put the pizzas in fridge(he didnt let us). The next day we just cooked this pizzas and drink a bottle of wine with it and for our surprise one of the staff came and take our bottle of wine saying that is not allowed WE'RE 25 CMON

Great location right on one of the main streets, swipe access locks to rooms and lockers provided. Good price and staff were generally helpful and friendly Kitchen was basic although with Spar opposite and Subway two door away, wasn't that big a deal. Disappointed when asked on checkin, check out on new years day was still 10am, most hostels extend checkout on new years day. At 10am, was told no luggage storage we all had to leave.. in the rain and hungover! hostel shut even common area

We were two girls in the 18 bed girl dorm and had a great stay. Staff are excellent and the venue is very cosy, clean and stylish. Only thing was that the lockers were thin and would not fit a large or rigid bag so these had to be left outside of the locker, the other thing was the room was facing onto the street so did not get much sleep as it was loud most of the night with drinkers- not much can be done about this by the place but ask for room away from the main street if that will bother you

The location is perfect, right in the middle of Cardiff. The downstairs bar and chill area is decorated in a really cool way with strong wifi signal. It feels like they have tried to put too maybe beds in each room, luckily my room wasn't full. If you are just looking for a hostel to stay a night or two it was great and the free breakfast was a bonus.

Great staff, great location, beautifully decorated and a lot of fun! Things to watch: the lockers are secure but are wire cages and thus see-through, people seeing all my valuables made me a little uncomfortable. They are under the beds and they are lockable, so it's not a problem as such, but maybe when it's time to replace them this could be changed? The bathrooms are very clean but there are no ledges to put our things down on when you're in them which is a little tough. But a great place!

I loved staying at The Bunkhouse, I stayed in the 18 bed girls dorm and it was so spacious and clean with enough space to not feel crowded.. It's in a great location however the noise from the street really is an issue when trying to sleep. I would go back.
