Its located about 30min walk from the town, but they have a shuttle going all throughout the day. It is a real resort feel, very relaxing with the hammocks and the overall vibe. They keep the kitchen clean and organized by having everyone get a $10 deposit for your cutlery. I really enjoyed my stay here

The bathroom in our 6 bed dorm was gross! Even after the cleaner had been in the floor was hairy and covered in dirty water. Pretty expensive for a pretty average hostel, however the location was beaut. It was a bit annoying to have to pay a cash deposit for crockery and such, but even more annoying that they didn't tell you on check in that it was the case.

Bit of a walk to the centre but so close to the beach. Not very lively but the BBQ is a way to meet people on a Sunday

Nice hostel, could be a littlebit closer to the city

Disappointed with our stay here. Dirty bathrooms - 'ensuite' is actually 1 toilet & shower for 12 people. Not a great atmosphere. Have to leave deposit for crockery set hire. Received worst customer service ever from French blonde lady, after we had to change rooms on our 2 night stay. Was extremely rude and blamed us for not having booked early enough. Basically wasted half our day waiting to re-check into a room. They think "it's Byron Bay" so they don't have to provide customer service.

The hostel room wasn't very clean or tidy when we arrived. Although a cleaner came each day, the floors and bathroom were still unclean. The worst part about the hostel were some of the staff members. While some were very nice and helpful, others were plain awful. Not only unhelpful, but unable to do their job, argumentative, disrespectful and incredibly unprofessional. We were treated terribly and not one apology was offered for the the mistakes made by staff who couldn't do their job.

Not all stove elements worked. Heaps of ants in the rooms/showers. A lot of groups who kept to themselves and thus not as social as can be. Shuttle bus wasn't very frequent so I walked into town most of the time - 20 mins or so. Found it hard to want to head back to hostel after a night out in town - slept at friends' hostels a few nights because of that. Staff is very friendly. ~90% of people staying there are girls.

Belongil Beach is a great location. The hostel is average, solo travellers will be OK if they're happy to actively go out and find pals but no social scene in the hostel itself and they don't like talking in the common areas after dark. Like most Australian hostels, you've got to put up a deposit if you want to cook with pots and you have to pay for wifi.

The only complaint I would have would be that the cleaners came in every morning super early and if you were getting ready to do something or you needed to stay in the shower or toilet they would basically kick you out. They could never just come back if you were busy. We were getting ready to leave one day and the cleaner basically kicked us out and wouldn't wait 10 minutes for us to finish and leave. Was super rude.

great stay and value for money. Nice and clean with great location. Friendly staff and fun activities in common area.

Loved it.

Ended up extending our stay here. A really great, established hostel with a good kitchen and an open design. Room was hot (fan instead of aircon) but it was big and clean. The hostel was a fifteen minute walk from the city centre, but there was a regular shuttle, and it was a stones throw from a beautiful stretch of beach. Nice bar attached (though they did overcharge).

Staff were really friendly, good atmosphere and vibe to the hostel. We booked a double room with en suite which was fab! Really clean and nice, had a balcony with a hammock and seating area, great value for money as we paid similar price as a normal double room but this was a really good one! Free shampoo etc in the bathroom, free t and coffee in room, TV in the room. Only thing was we had to leave our bags in a glass room unlocked before checking in, anyone could walk in and take them :/

Rooms were quite big with lockers. Hammocks were really nice! Very close to the beach and 15min walk into town. The hostel had a shuttle bus running into town which was very good. No free WiFi. Could stay again.

Arrived after 3 hour bus journey for our bus to sit and wait an extra 40 minutes before leaving for the hostel despite no one else getting in,6 bed 'ensuite' dorm is a joke you actually share 1 bathroom and 1 shower with 12 people as it is in between 2 6 bed dorms.Place was filthy and there are ants EVERYWHERE it's disgusting. Also no security as anyone in the other joined 6 bed can walk straight through anytime & cleaners come in at 10 no respect for privacy walk in whenever & make lots of Noise

Awesome hostel right at the beach, super relaxed with several hammocks. Staff was super friendly and helpful.

Very close proximity to the beach. Nice kitchen. Fairly quiet and a bus into town if you dont fancy the walk along the beach to town. Would stay here again!

Every was great except the lock on the door which was hard to open.

Amazing location right on the beach and walking distance from the town. Free shuttle goes from the hostel every hour or so too which is handy. Great place to meet people. Nice to sit in the garden area having a few drinks. Really clean too and there is always something going on. Would definitely go back. Loved it!

I stayed in the girls dorm which was very dirty. The bathroom smelled and was not clean. The floors in the whole dorm were very dirty as well as the closets. Closets were covered in dust and rubbish was left behind from other previous guests. I would have expected that that would be cleaned up. The cutlery was not clean. The staff at the reception did not know anything about the yoga and bus schedule. When I checked out there was a french lady at the reception- she was extremly nice
