Nice place to stay...slighly out of town but easily accessible via 10min walk on beach. Cheaper than in-town hostels I believe. If you're wanting to party with other backpackers then this is probably a bit quite. They have bbq on Sunday night so might be a good opportunity to mingle with other guests.

Location is much further away than stated on the advert. They offer a "free" shuttle pick up, but the Greyhound bus only arrives in Byron Bay at 9pm, and apparently the free shuttle stops at 7pm, so that was completely pointless, and we were counting on the free pickup, so had to walk which took forever. Our room was also covered in sand when we arrived. Nice and close to the beach, but it's the dog beach, and it definitely takes longer than 10 minutes to walk into town along the beach.

We stayed in one if the double rooms. Excellent value for money. Clean, towels, tea + coffee a fridge and tv. Almost like a hotel but just 35 dollar per person. 15 min walk along the beach to city, but it's a nice walk. Would always book here again.

We had a great time at the hostel. There is nothing particular to complain about.

Nice place, laid-back atmosphere. Average kitchen. Nice tv-room. Walkable distance to town. Internet it's quite expensive but I was able to use the wi-fi of the nearby hostel. Tons of ammocks!

Eventhough it was a short night we stayed, must say definitely want to return to hostel. We had private double, but walking around gave us good vibe. For real backpackers without car, might be unhandy to get there if you arrive early in the morning or late at night.

Imagine: waking up, out of pyjamas, into bathers and straight away into the waves. Wonderful. Getting dried by the sun on the clean and sunny beach. Nice. Not feeling like making breaky yourself? -No worries, there's a cute little cafe waiting for you right next to the resort admidst palmtrees. Byron Beach Resort is a 15' walk away from the buzzing town center. It's a bit out of the partying zone, which is nice, because you can have both: partying and a good night sleep.

Really chilled hostel, a bit out of town but no one would mind the walk along the beach to get there. Nice social/bbq area and 1 minutes from the beach. Just had a bad shower in our room, but that didn't effect my stay.

Though I had no problem during my weekend, it was kind of hard to get to the hostel in comparison with other hostels I have been, and it was a little bit far from the town centre, there are just a couple of shuttle transfers to town. I must say they lend you bikes for free but only for 2h (I suggest they allow more time). I thought the facilities were clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. If you walk trough the beach it is not that far! Enjoy your stay.

Hip, funky place but WAAAAAY out of town. Would need a car to get back and forth, but cool atmosphere if you\'re just gonna chill at the beach.

Great hostel with a lot of character! Located directly at the beach which is awesome! It is a little bit of walk into town though, but there is a shuttlebus too. Also at nighttime there was always someone making sure that everyone would be quiet!

it's a nice hostel in front of belongil beach, it's good value for money but it's not very clean, the kitchen is a bit of a mess, and in the furniture you could find ants sometimes. my room was not clean during the 5 days i was there, the floor was sandy and the tv area too... it's 25 min walk to the city, they run a free courtesy bus but it's like every one or two hours and last return is at 7.40pm but above all it was a nice stay

Awesome chilled out vibe, lovely helpful staff and very friendly atmosphere. The fact it's away from town is a good thing - great excuse to walk down the beautiful Belongil beach every day!

One of the nicest hostels we visited in Australia!! Doubled our time there because we liked it a lot. The location is amazing because you are a bit outside of Byron Bay (free bus, free bike hire, so no worries! ;) ). Friendly, helpful staff, good atmosphere and only a sec from the beach! Thanks a lot for the amazing time in Byron!!

I think the staff of Byron Beach Resort mean well, but that the property is a lost cause. It is smelly, dirty and in parts, infested by ants. Worse, it is a 30 minute walk from the center of town, which is a very long way when you consider how small Bryon Bay is. The kitchen? Dirty and disgusting and even worse, you have to rent out dishes! I don't see this place being in business very long, even if the front desk girls are very sweet.

Owner Comment (Show)
We appreciate input both good and bad, and realize that clients can provide great insights. The property has been with us for the last 4 mths, and we agree that had we not taken it over it would have been a lost cause! However, our improvements have been many, and there are many more to come. We also promote the property as being out of the centre of Byron, as we believe and many agree, that our location is a major attraction. The property is about a 15 min by the beach & 20 by the public street walk into town (can be more/less depending on individual). However, we've also added free bike hire and a shuttle bus for clients to get into / out of town. Lastly, agreed the kitchen can get messy from users that are meant to clean up after themselves, but is on the renovation hit list, but is cleaned top to bottom each night. The other cause for renovation will be the common bathrooms / showers, which are dated we agree, but they are also professionally cleaned twice daily Thanks Byron Beach Resort
