The staff was very knowledgeable about where to visit, cheap traditional spots for dining, and what to do. They were also very flexible with booking changes. Some downsides to the experience was the fact that the electricity went out for like an hour and a half. The wifi was restricted to the lobby area. There wasn't a comfortable place to sit and relax unless it's your own room. The rooms have small windows with little ventilation. The room was equipped with a small desktop fan. Spain is hot!!
Secure and quiet location, just in gran via on the gay part of the city, the staff is pretty nice and helpful. would definitely come back
A very nice, friendly hostal owner that was helpful and made our stay there memorable.
This was our 4th/5th stay at the Alistana. If you are looking for an inexpensive, clean, centrally located ensuite room in Madrid then I don't think you could do any better. The rooms & shower-rooms are always clean & tidy and the hotel is located 250m from Gran Via Metro, along a street with many cafes & bars. The rooms are a little small - but for the price, the hotel is everything you could want as a base to explore the city. We certainly wouldn't stay anywhere else in Madrid.
