The hostel is in the perfect location, and the rooftop is perfect for at night since Venice's night life is kind of lacking. The issue was the bathroom. The toilet was glued to the floor and fell over when sitting on it causing the water to come out the bottom and flood the bathroom.... this tracked throughout the room all night and reception was closed. Multiple people used the bathroom as well so come the morning it was pretty gross.
Amran was so helpful! Location was awesome, everything was within walking distance. Bathroom needed a good scrub but other then that it was a good stay.
Don't even try to use the aircon, which will actually heat the room :)

Staff is nice and very helpful. One night I am super hungry and Amran offered his homemade curry.
Such a great hostel, with a great environment! I was made to feel very welcome!! They went above and beyond what I expected :)
Air con is loud and hopeless. Separate bathroom was down the corridor - slightly annoying. Staff are ok but slightly disinterested in you. No room service which may annoy some people. Basic bar. Didn't have the bfast there. Good location near shops, main square etc. adequate place to stay
No air conditioning in some rooms. Couldn't open windows or mosquitoes would eat you alive. Bathroom floor was often covered in a mixture of water and dirt, which was annoying. No lockers that I saw. Only (ice) cold showers on my floor (top floor). On the positive side, nice roof to chill on, cooking and refrigeration facilities, nice staff, cool place to meet other travelers, decent location. Overall, it's solid if you get an air conditioned room, but if not, I'd look elsewhere.
The staff at Ca' Venezia was very helpful and the rooms were well kept and clean. Nothing fancy but it was a solid hostel.
Great location on the island of Venice, perfect for being able to experience the maze of beautiful streets and canals. Nice rooftop terrace too.
NEVER EVER AGAIN! My worst backpacking experience. In hot and unbearable summer nights, there was no working air conditioning and no ceiling fan. Tired of the owner's excuses and lies! Had to run away from that place.
Excellent location but hard to get to with heavy luggage. Amran was so helpful with info and tips on Venice. I would definitely stay here again. Lovely, spacious room with air conditioning. Thank you, Amran :-)
I just stayed one night and it was OK. Great location. However it was very hot and we were given only a "duvet" to put over us, which was far too hot. It would be better to give a second sheet to put over us. I ended up getting eaten alive by mosquitos until I borrowed a sheet from another empty bed.
The staff were the most friendly I have ever found in a hostel. Incredibly helpful and really friendly. The hostel itself is unique and the roof top makes a lovely place to socialise with other travellers. The location is good as no public transport is necessary to enter the city. It is however very expensive, although Venice is a very expensive place. No lockers for stuff and our room door was open most of time, also didn't get the room we asked for. The hostel itself however has good security.
A bit pricy but so is all of Venice and Italy in general. AC in room was a huge plus, especially after such a hot day. Nice staff, they were very helpful and showed me the best routes for reaching the main attractions and how to reach the train station along with water bus routes. Easily made my trip better. I'd come back.
We lived in a huge room with a sink and small dining table, which worth more than the money we paid. Amran is a great host, make our stay in Venice full of joy. Thank you Amran!!
The people in the reception was really helpfull and nice!
This hostel is very central, located just 5 minutes from San Marco and, for arts lovers, very close to (telling the truth, almost in front of) the Scuola Dalmata dei Santi Giorgio e Trifone, which conserves beautiful Vittore Carpaccio's paintings on canvas. My room had air conditioning, indispensable during Venice hot summer. But Ca' Venezia real asset is Amran, the guy who runs it, who is a wonderful person indeed: nice, kind, helpful. Feeling like home.
This place is average on all accounts. Staff members are friendly, but one in particular is very "friendly" with the ladies. I didn't like have my arms caressed and my head kissed on a daily basis. There isn't much warm water available, and you typically have to wait 20 minutes to take a shower because bathrooms are limited. Overall, it's a place to sleep and clean up, but not worth the money.
Hostel was completely overbooked when I arrived. People having to sleep in the corridor and in reception. Amran was helpful, but all facilities were poor. Extremely hot in the rooms at night. No hot water for showers at all. Particularly on the top floor. Overpriced.
