The Hostel staff and the atmosphere was nice, specially the people that stayed at my room, they were a great group, but the hostel needs better bathrooms, and a much better heating system, it was really cold, all the time. Breakfast was ok for a hostel.

great location, and we loved the pool table! unfortunately were sharing a room with a guy who snored like a wilderbeast ALL night, but that's not the hostel's fault! not many ppl staying but it was winter, can imagine it would be a great place in the summer, and the breakfast was good too.

Very cool

Very cool centrally located hostel with nice dorms, great breakfast (bread/toast, cereal, fruit, juice, tea and coffee), awesome chillout areas and super helpful staff. Bathrooms fine and cleaned regularly (although only a few showers and toilets). Large and functional common kitchen is also a plus. One block from local bus stop and a 10 to 15 minute trip on the bus to/from the bus terminal (don't need a taxi) for only 15 pesos - bus CA1 from memory. Overall a great hostel!

Stayed in a female dorm for three nights. The rooms are good, was cold at night but every room has a heater/ AC which they later switched on. Nice area to hang around, they have a pool-table, good kitchen, breakfast is simple (coffee, milk, juices, bread , butter, jam, fruits) but absolutely sufficient and good. 5 minutes walking into the new city centre, round 10 to the ancient city. Great staff. Maria and Felipe were very helpful - thanks! Can recommend it!

There was only one bathroom but with the hostel not being full this wasn't an issue. They had a pool table, card games which was good. Breakfast was good toast and cereal and fruit. Cheap laundry facilities too.

Had a great couple of days there! The location was perfect for us and the staff were extremely helpful regarding things to do in the area and where to move onto next! Would recommend it to anyone!

The guests were definitely male dominated when we went, but security was good so I wasn't that worried about it. the male staff dude was also really helpful about telling us stuff to do and just being a generally friendly dude. Overall, while it isn't the cheapest in south america standards, Caballo loco was probably one of the nicer hostels I have stayed at. It was really clean, and had a beautiful mural of a indigenous man smoking a pipe and the smoke turning into a horse. Def recommend

Great Hostel! Owners and staff are fantastic. Common room is huge and great for meeting others. Location is awesome as well.

Overall a good place to stay. We were only there for two nights but had everything required with nice open communal area and helpful staff. Met some great people. The only real gripe was the low number of showers/toilets for, at times, quite a number of people staying there, plus being a little cold at times though we were in winter. Staff helped us out booking onward buses which was great, good breakfast and kitchen facilities.

What a fantastic hostel. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The location was perfect. And the atmosphere of the hostel was great. It's set up in a way that makes it easy meet fellow travelers and make new friends. Thanks for a great experience!

The caballo loco was great!! The staff was so helpful with ideas of where to go and what to do, and they spoke excellent English (convenient for me since my Spanish is so-so). It felt very safe and the breakfast was plentiful

Beautiful building with wonderful facilities. The two guys that work there are also great and helpful!

Male staff very friendly, female not so much. Good position (next to plaza cagancha) and clean dorm rooms. Atmosphere wasn't fantastic, the hostel mostly seemed empty.

Unfortunately there were only two others staying in the hostel at the time I was there due to off-season. But the staff is great and helps you with everyhing.
