Pretty poor location. But excellent staff. Carolyn (the girl behind the bar) is absolutely stuning. I wanted to bring her back to London with me.

It would be great if the bar could stay open a bit later and/or people were able to bring in their own alcohol. T.V room is great. Travelling is pretty tiring and was good to have a place to chill out.

The 4 beds bedroom is horrible, cramped, its like a can of sardines. Stay in the 10 bedroom if you can ( better not stay here at all). The general quality of the hostel is very poor, breakfast is bad ( but it is bad everywhere I have been) Bear in mind that most hostels in Rio are bad and expensive. Employees are nice and friendly. Nao fique no quarto de 4 camas. É péssimo, um autentico pardieiro. Nao ha espaco para que uma pessoa se mexa. O quarto tem 9 ou 10 m2. As instalacoes sao mas.

It was a niceplace to stay. I stayed at the girl room, and it was very comfortable to have thatmuch privacy in a hostel. I liked this place, allthough the breakfeast could have been a bit better..

The Cobanacopa is on the whole a nice place with a very good location, located on a street with security so feeling very safe. I found the staff polite, but a little more enthusiasm wouldn't have hurt. The enormous TV in the top floor lounge was on all the time, very loudly, very annoying. But the bar area with tables and chairs also outside provided for an alternative place to be. Huge drawback: The internet connection was terrible. Hardly ever worked, seems to be a chronic problem. Fix it!

There was no encouragement from the hostel staff to create any group or social atmosphere. Proximity to beach is good, and a residential street, however we moved after 2 days to a hostel in Lapa to experience night life of Rio as there is none near this hostel. The area is touristy and overpriced. We also left when we were awoken from the shrieks of our friend who was covered in bedbug bites, as did 2 other rooms. Our friend received no refund or compensation for having to wash his clothes..

We had a great stay, reception was very helpful, beds very comfortable - enough night life but quiet enough to get a good night's sleep. I would recommend staying at this hostel.

This hostel is one of the best I've stayed in and I've been to many hostels around the world. The airconditioning in my room was superb and kept us cool during the very hot night. The free internet in the common area on the 2nd floor is also very helpful if you are somebody without a laptop. The only critique I would have is that the hostel offers a shuttle service from Rio International Airport for R$70. Don't bother with this. A licensed taxi from the airport will cost far less.

Pretty basic hostel. 6 bed dorm room very crammed. Decent breakfast. Odd policy where everyone gets booted out of the bar at 10.30pm, youd think thatd be prime time for them. So definitely kills the atmos a bit. Cant be 100% certain, but pretty sure my girlfriend got bed bugs from the bed here, room 11. Internet connection is poor aswell

Really great hostel, had a great time and made some amazing friends. Only negative is the rooms weren't very clean and you have to buy your own locks for lockers but would definitely stay here again. Hostel i on top of a really, really, really steep hill so make sure you bring comfy walking shoes and have strong legs!!

The hostel was very, very clean and secure. The common area was great. But there was only 1 computer working for the whole hostel and the wifi didn't work really well.

Great location near Copacabana beach and the metro. The hostel felt very safe and clean. However our bed (private double) was very uncomfortable as it had a plastic covering and we found the hostel to be noisy at night. Not the best nights sleep if trying to recover from jet lag!

The hostel is located in a quiet neighborhood close to the metro and the beach. The bathrooms were very clean, but the room was a bit filthy and also very small compared to how many beds there were. The mattresses had a plastic cover under the sheets, which made it a bit uncomfortable during the nights.

A very clean hostel. Have stayed in 4 in Rio and this was the best. Breakfast could be a bit better.

The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is great. You get easily in contact with other people. There are just a few things what they could do better. First of all a city map from whole Rio would be great, second there is just one computer, that function for the all the guests, and the bin in the ladys bathroom could be empty more often, even when it's fullybooked. But overall I can recommend that hostel.

Great hostel, great staff - especially Ruth and Dominika, Internat access though is the weak point - one PC working and WIfi basically non-existing.

Stayed here for two nights, it was alright. Seems like a hostel for a party-crowd, which is not really my kind of crowd, but I guess you can expect this when you stay in Copacabana. Good breakfast, helpful staff, great location, good facilities. Only complaint is that the 6-bed dorm that I booked is actually a 7-bed dorm.
