We can't speak highly enough of cabinas Algebra, we spent a fantastic week there. The owners Alfred and Andrea are brilliant hosts, they were very welcoming, great for conversations, and a good laugh. Their restaurant, bananas serves excellent food at a good price. Their dogs, Lou-Lou and Frido are super friendly and they sat outside our cabin every night to act as guard dogs for monkey's and other exotic creatures! The location for the cabins are quite remote - but that's the point!

Alfred and Andrea, the German couple that run Cabinas Algebra, have carved an incredible hostel experience into one of the best regions of Costa Rica. While the amenities of the cabins are sparse (showers + bed), they are clean, secure and comfortable, and a great value for the price. Set right in the seaside jungle of Cahuita, the environment is also amazing. Bonus: The home-cooked meals at the restaurant are amazing, and Alfred is incredibly helpful about transportation to/from the bus stop.
