Cabinas Eddy was our favorite place that we stayed in two weeks of traveling in Costa Rica. The owner, Freddy, and his family were so welcoming and helpful, gave great recommendations, and made a wonderful breakfast for us every morning. It was clean and spacious- the perfect place to stay. I don't know that, even with being pleased with a place, I have ever felt like I'd have to go back but the next time we are in Costa Rica, we will DEFINITELY go stay at Cabinas Eddy again. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Cabinas Eddy was a real good surprise in such a tourist spot. Great value, great service, Freddy and his staff are extremly kind and helpful, always eager to please you. Breakfast is really good. Location is perfect in quiet location but just 100 m to supermarket and 200 m to (small) city center. Spotless clean, cleaning your room everyday. Would definitely come back.

Everything was amazing. They knew everything about what there was to do and they were so nice. They spoke both English and Spanish very well and were so helpful. The rooms were very nice and very clean. Recommended highly!

We really enjoyed our stay at Cabinas Eddy. Freddy was super friendly and went out of his way to befriend us and offer us travel advice. The room was ok, not the most comfortable hostel we have stayed, but not the least either. We were surprised to get delicious banana pancakes in the morning for free also. This is an amazing deal for the price.

The owner Freddy was so sweet and accommodating. Great English, incredible service, huge fresh breakfast and the hottest hostel showers I have ever had. The rooms and bathrooms are tidy, clean and all have windows. The is by far one of the best hostels we have ever stayed in and would recommend it to anyone. Best advice and prices for activities we found too!

We loved cabinas eddy! Seriously good value for money! The host Freddy was so accomodating he was giving us better service than 5 star hotels! Very personalized and took time to answer all our questions about trip planning and taking time to research and inquire for us part of our trip that was harder to plan!

Hostel was well set out and only 2 mins down the road from the main street. The breakfast provided was lovely - banana pancakes and fresh fruit. For the days we were there the children appeared to be running the office most of the time, with the usual staff only really around in the evenings. The kids still helped us to the best of their ability although they didn't speak much English. Also had a little miscommunication with the beds - 2 doubles where we wanted 4 singles, but this worked out.

For less than £10 a night this place was great- we had a hammock outside our room, lots of space and light. Breakfast was basic but fine, room and bathroom was clean. Fridge in our room which was great until the cleaner turned it off half way through the day and we came back after a day of tours to warm food and water!

My husband and I stayed 5 nights at Cabanas Eddy and it is a nice family run hostel. Freddy and his family/staff are very friendly and always helpful. They truly wanted to make our stay a great experience. Room, baths, and common areas were always clean. Breakfast was great!

Great value for money right near the middle of Santa Elena. The staff were excellent at organizing tours and telling us how to get to Granada afterwards. Good rooms, not a party hostel but its not a party town. Be aware Monteverde is VERY windy in January and you will need earplugs to sleep!

This place was EXCEPTIONAL! Freddy goes out of his way to provide a welcoming place and friendly and honest service! It is evident that the family that runs this place truly cares about it and their customers (and thus deserve your business). I absolutely recommend Cabinas Eddy to anyone! You will not be disappointed. Tasty breakfast will await you in the morning, cozy and clean rooms with TV, communal kitchen to cook your own meals, Internet, ... just book it! :-)
