Felt ripped off having to pay $15/night for a bed in a 12 person dorm because it was Semana Santa. Even the regular price of 10 seemed too much for this hostel. The fans in the dorm didn't have covers so I feared cutting myself if I accidently walked to close to one. The kitchen was small and dirty and there was a cat that would walk across the counter at leisure. The worst hostel I stayed in Costa Rica.

This hostel's location is perfect - you walk through the back garden and there's the beach right there. I also loved the jungly atmosphere (there's a tree painted in rasta colours too!). However, the bathroom smelt of damp and mould and my sheets didn't smell much better. The staff were friendly but didn't speak any English at all (slightly surprising since this was the Caribbean Coast), which made it very difficult to book anything through them. Peaceful but a little TOO quiet maybe.
