My advice is to stay in a hotel, never mind the cost.

In a decent spot near the bars and stalls on the beach. My main quarrel with this hostel was that the rooms are not sealed because the walls aren't built to the top. I had to sleep under a mosquito net. TTHey did a caipirinha night on Friday, which was fun. Not many english speakers, staff or otherwise, here.
