Small, clean hostel. Great breakfast. Really helpful, friendly staff. Location is good. I could easily get buses to wherever I needed too and the local area had shops and banks.

Friendly, helpful staff. Short walk to the Christ. Very quiet hostel, nice if you don't want a party hostel. Kept very clean. Access to street restricted, lockers under beds. More info, such as flyers/posters/maps etc, on things to do in the city would be useful. Kind of has a B and B feel to it, the common area sometimes seems a bit like you're in someone elses lounge. Our room had bit of traffic noise in the morning. All in all a good hostel if you want a quiet, well kept place to stay.

We had an amazing time. Staff and owners were just so friendly and helpful with directions and taxi's etc. Alice Road is just the perfect place to be. A lively village atmosphere and so easy to access the city by bus and metro. Would recommend it to anyone. Regards Sara and Paul from New Zealand.

I think this is the best hostel I have ever been to. The atmosphere of the hostel is relaxed and the owners and staff are so nice. I like the area where the hostel is located. Arround there are many shops, restaurants, supermarkets and more. It is in a nice neighbourhoud in Rio. Besides of this, they serve the best breakfast I had in South America. Jacques, Marcia and the staff keep on going and thank you so much for the great stay!!

This hostel is one of the best places we' ve stayed ever. The room we stayed in was spacious and tieded up on a daily basis. The staff was very helpful and all the time the feeling was of like being at home. The hostel is conveniently located in a safe area (walking distance to the Corcovado) and the bus stops nearby connect with basically all the other major areas of interest in town. Great value for money, definitely . Keep on this track! Awesome place!

This was one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in. The location is off the beaten path as it's in Laranjeiras as opposed to Copacabana or Ipanema but we really enjoyed it. You're a short 15 minute walk to the base of Christ the Redeemer and even closer to some cool bars, restaurants, and discos. We had a fantastic time at Casa Rosa just up the block. The staff is also excellent offering recommendations and being very accommodating as long as you're willing to put up with a few small quirks.

We stayed over christmas and it was perfect, the couple who owned the hostel will do anything to make you feel at home, it has new facilities including a nice kitchen to cook in. I would stay there again in a heartbeat

Cafe Rio Hostel is a great and friendly hostel to stay in! Unfortunately, we only stayed for 2 nights, but it was enough time to follow the good advises of the hostel owners, and see the most popular places in Rio. The big advantage of the hostel is that you are in a nice neighbourhood, you have a kitchen and a bright and comfortable room, so all needs are met, and on top of that, you have friendly staff all the time to get advice and help.
