Staff were friendly and helpful, facilities were great, excellent fresh juice for breakfast!

Overall it was a pleasant stay and loved the location 10 mins walk from Lapa, the party zone! Staff were knowledgeable of the area and gave good direction of places to visit. The downside were the toilets and showers. They were all in the same room and used by men and women. Doors had gaps in between and can get crowded especially with ladies doing their makeup face the only mirror on the floor. If you don't mind that, then you would probably enjoy your stay

Hostel has a lot of potential before I go any further. Good location and security good. Staff hardly talk english. Dorms are absolutely tiny and cramped for the amount of beds in them, showers are also an absolute joke as the cubicles are so small, toilets have see through doors in some of them, there is no kitchen.Being '3 gringos' we felt a bit of bar tension from the male bar staff, atmosphere in the bar doesn't really get going, if your not a local brazilian here your screwed.

One of the best hostels I've stayed in South America! Was only supposed to stay there 2 nights and ended up there a full week! Amazing staff, great location 2 streets from the main street with bars in Lapa, incredible caipirinhas served at their bar and overall, a great hostel, very clean, colourful and lively! i will come back for sure!

A bit hard to find in the evening and the neighbourhood was not the most welcoming, but as soon as you enter the hostel, you feel at home. Nice design and free and cheap caiprinhas for the night. The staff is very chill and there to help you. Would definitely recommend it!

Nice hostel with nice staff. Helped us a lot. Good breakfast and nice bar. The guided tour which they offered was pretty useless. They charged way to much money for it, nothing was included not even transfer to the location and the guide didn't actually tell us anything, just showed us the way.

The good: location, great staff, good breakfast, incredibly welcoming atmosphere, a communal guitar, and a great outdoor plaza for socialising. The bad: the bathrooms are clean only on the surface, no hot water, the outdoor smoking/socialising area opens into the rooms, & it can get pretty cold in the rooms with the air con(which is probably a pro when it's 30°+ degrees). Overall, I wish I hadn't checked out to stay in Copa, I'd book again in a heartbeat.

Great vibe in a trendy part of Rio. For a more authentic, varied experience way better than overly touristy Copacabana and Ipanema areas, and just a stone's throw away from Carioca metro station with access to Sugarloaf, Cristo and all the main attractions. 5 minutes walk from awesome bars in Lapa, staff are cool and helpful - Mike does great Favela tours (highly recommended) and mountain hikes which are an awesome adventure. Fez at reception also social and helpful.

CaipiHostel is fantastic! The staff are amazing, they are really fun, most of them speak great English, they will help you with anything and make this place a very welcoming experience. CaipiHostel is well located in Lapa which is a really cool district for food, bars and live music. The beds are comfy and there is great facilities. This hostel is one of the most fun I've stayed in!!!
