Overall a very pleasant experience with this excellent hostel. The location is perfect for hiking and other outdoor activities in Cairngorm. Spacious common area including reading room, kitchen and dinning room. The 6-bed room is also not crowded but there is no socket inside the room. It is a bit inconvenient to charge everything in public area. Paid internet and wifi available only when the reception is open. But the visitor centre close by provides free wifi.

In short, I love this hostel. The scenery and setting, and the hostel itself with its history and many rooms make it a very relaxing and peaceful getaway. The only negative is their open times for reception; I know they have their reasons, but I wish they were open for check-in even a couple hours earlier. Still, with easy access to trails throughout the beautiful Cairngorms and a lovely library of resources, definitely a place not to be missed.

The staff were very friendly but check it was very slow. The guy behind reception could have done with some help! Free wifi would also have been nice as it was £1 for an hour which is quite a lot. It would also have been nice to have more plug sockets, especially in the rooms. The facilities and locations were great!

Really enjoyed my stay at Glenmore Cairngorm Lodge.............the Hostel has that oh so Scottish feel about it and the location is superb. I walked around the loch and up over the mountains and got on a steam train walking back to the hostel from one of the small stations. It is spacious with a comfy lounge, big kitchen and big rooms. In fact, it is like a hotel without the price tag.

Located a short drive from Aviemore this place is great for walkers and skiers! Nice beds, well equipped kitchen and nice cafe/restaurant with great views. Be prepared to rise early though, as the rooster in the backyard is a persistent little bugger ;)

A good place to stay for if you are travelling on your own and on a budget but it does add up if you're a family of four.
