Helpful and informative staff though some a little jaded. Wifi is 3 pound an hour
For an SYHA hostel it was quite welcoming (they often have such an sterile economic touch). The dorms/bathrooms were clean, also the kitchen, which was well equipped. Price for accommodation was good, but breakfast/dinner is overly expensive (as always in SYHA hostels). Great location in the Cairngorm National Park, hiking trails are 5 min away, but it is a remote area, takes some time to get there and there are no (grocery) shopping facilities nearby.
a Nice clean hostel. well suited if you want to go hiking but there's not much in the way of atmosphere. honestly if you're travelling alone and want to meet people find somewhere else, but if you want to go hiking it's ideal.
The hostel is very clean. But there are some things that don't work and should be improved. The hostel close every day btw 10am and 14pm. If you want to eat there, it's not possible and there are only 2 ou 3 places around to eat at this time. It's very annoying. There are no electrical outlet in the rooms for charging phones and camera. The only one we find is that in the hall and we have to share it with everyone. Internet is not free and it's very expensive for only 20 minutes!Disappointing...
It was a great hostel, beautiful location, lots of things to do. They have a nice big kitchen if you want to cook for yourself and a fine restaurant if you don't.
If I travel in this area again, I will look for different accomodations. They charge for internet time. Even when using their computer, I was unable to get a file to attach to an email because it was so slow. Expect to make your own beds and to remove the sheets when you leave. At 10 AM they physically shut down every day. We were told that we had to leave. We couldn't even use the large restrooms to brush our teeth. Instead of enjoying my stay, I felt like an inconvenience to the staff.
